Summary
One creative player has now assembled an impressive and eye-catching frog-shaped ship. Out of all of the gameplay mechanics Bethesda Game Studios included in its sprawling, space-based RPG,Starfield, one that’s received significant praise from many players is the ship-building system. By piecing together the various modules available for purchase throughout the galaxy players have created everything from flying mechs to aFord Mustang Fastback spaceship.
Released in early September following years of anticipation from gamers,Starfieldis the latest open-world RPG from Bethesda. Despite taking some of the best gameplay elements from Bethesda’sFalloutandThe Elder Scrollgames and giving them a sci-fi makeover, the ambitious title has been met with decidedly mixed reviews so far. While the game has been widely praised for the sheer size of its explorable galaxy, gameplay mechanics likeStarfield’s outpostshave received a less-than-stellar reception from some players. One feature that’s been more well-received, though, isStarfield’s surprisingly powerful ship-building system.

Providing an entertaining example of just how versatile the ship design mechanic inStarfieldtruly is, Redditor TheEggOnTop has shared pictures of their impressive, frog-themed spaceship. Looking like it just hopped off a deep space lily pad, the squat green ship has all of the characteristics of the amphibian that inspired it. With large landing gear in the rear meant to resemble the creature’s high-hopping hind legs and a head-shaped cockpit that looks like it could shoot out a fly-catching tongue at any second, the unorthodox starship is an impressive feat of biomimicry.
Starfieldplayersresponding to the mischievous mash-up of biology and technology were impressed by the unique creation. Making a reference to the mind-altering toxins coating the skin of some frogs, one Redditor replied to ask if the ship was meant to haul hallucinogenic compounds. Another reply suggested adding a touch of yellow to the docker on the “head” of the ship to make it look like a tiny crown fit for a frog prince, a request which TheEggOnTop cheerfully obliged, sharing a picture of the revision in the replies. Frog-shaped ships are apparently quite popular with players judging by the replies, with several Redditors responding to share details about similar creations they made in their game.
While this unique, frog-shaped ship may not be the sleekest vessel cruising the stars, it’s certainly one of the most creative ones. Though, given the tendency of frogs to snack on unsuspecting insects, the player who recently made aspider-shaped ship inStarfieldis in luck thatStarfieldisn’t a multiplayer game where TheEggOnTop is on the prowl.
Starfieldis available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
