While not every weapon skill or sword itself is based on real-life weapons, this actor attempts to show off some of the real weapon styles, and also attempts some of the more fantastical weapon skills, too.
There is a wide variety of weapons inElden Ring. And while there are some weapons vastly better than others, especially when attempting to createthe best quality builds to maximize damage inElden Ring, a lot of players will gravitate towards the one-handed swords and weapons that look easier to wield. Almost every weapon in the game has unique attacks or specific animations, and in this video, the actor attempts to recreate specific sword styles, mostly katana styles, from the game and depict how they could look in the real world using several different blades of his own.

The actor, named Toru Uchikado, posted his video to YouTube, and the translation from the game itself to real life is uncanny. Uchikado has never playedElden Ring, but he spends time analyzing the sword moves from the game in the video before attempting to recreate them. He starts with basic katana attacks and gradually works his way to more complicated sword techniques. Uchikado also spends time detailing the real-life techniques of swords and katanas and how accurately they are presented inElden Ring. One of the most impressive parts of the video comes near the end, in which Uchikado attempts Malenia’s Waterfowl Dance attack, an infamous sword skill that solidifiedMalenia as one of the hardest bosses inElden Ring.
Uchikado mostly focuses on the standard katana weapons fromElden Ring, but he also attempts some of the more magical weapons as well, most notably theRivers of Blood katanaweapon skill and the Meteoric Ore Blade weapon skill, which in-game creates a ground shockwave. He concludes the video by describing it as educational for him and that he really wants to playElden Ringnow.
