6Rampart

Rampart differs from all defense legends as she can get value out of her tactical in open areas. Her tactical can create an impromptu cover in the open and give her team a chance to fire back at enemies rather than risk running for cover. Her walls work great for locking indoor areas and provide a damage buff for every weapon in the game.

Learning to use Ramparthinges on how well players use their tactical and plan. Rampart’s ultimate slows her down and should only be used in specific situations.

5Fuse

Players should utilize Fuse’s abilities as often as possible to get themost use out of Fuse. A good idea to utilize Fuse’s tactical is spamming it on enemies hiding indoors or around corners or on downed players. Fuse pairs great with Horizon’s ultimate, as he can unleash a barrage of explosives that will guarantee loads of damage on enemies. Fuse can carry two explosives per slot and fires them further and faster than any other legend.

Fuse’s ultimate is also great for flushing enemies out of a specific area, but it will rarely deal damage. Enemies caught inside the ultimate will be revealed and may allow for an opening if they are cut off from their team.

4Newcastle

Newcastle has declined, and he currently sits as one of theleast-picked legends in the game. His abilities are helpful but require team cohesion and communication to show effective results. Newcastle’s ultimate allows him to swoop in from a distance and save allies under fire. As for his passive, players need to find a gold knockdown shield to turn Newcastle into a nightmare to fight.

Once equipped with a gold knockdown shield, Newcastle can rescue downed teammates and instill fear in enemy teams. Uncoordinated enemies will fail to prevent a Newcastle revive. Pairing Newcastle with a defense legend such as Wattson will make it harder for enemies to halt revives.

3Gibraltar

Gibraltar was among the best legends for most of his time inApex Legends. His drop rate has vastly fallen off, becoming a rare pick for players. Gibraltar has a large hitbox that puts him at a massive disadvantage in any gunfight. To use Gibraltar effectively, players need a coordinated team. Gibraltar works well with defensive and offensive legends as his tactical allows him to create a defensive bubble in his favor.

Gamers refer to fighting around Gibraltar’s Dome of Protection tactical maneuver as “Bubble Fights” tograsp using Gibraltar. Bubble fights require Gibraltar players to use shotguns or SMGs to overwhelm enemies in close quarters and peek in and out of their bubble.

Gibraltar’s passive is arguably the defining factor of his kit and allows him to excel in close-quarter combat. His Gun Shield provides Gibraltar with 50 additional armor and regenerates quickly. A Gibraltar with red shields and Gun Shield will need 275 damage which does not include his damage reduction from his fortified status.

2Catalyst

Doors are everywhere inApex Legends, and Catalyst is unrivaled when it comes to playing around doors. The door queen can lock down two doors at a time and deploy three of her tactical floor spikes. Breaking a fortified door requires four kicks if enemies do not use grenades. Catalyst’s tactical sees little use in the open as enemies can easily avoid her spikes.

Players learning Catalystwill discover that her ultimate is great in the open where her other abilities bring no use. Her ultimate can separate a battlefield and is most useful during the end zones. Her Dark Veil manipulates the focus of fights in the final ring and will force enemies to fight others on their side of the ultimate.

1Wattson

Wattson has always been one of the least-picked legends in the game. She has no movement abilities or defensive options that defend her if caught out in the open. Wattson has ahigh skill ceiling to learn, but her kit is only helpful in niche situations.

Wattson’s abilities are tailored for indoor combat, as her fences lock down areas and punish reckless enemies. Her ultimate is effective in the late game but needs to be placed behind cover. Wattson’s Interception Pylon counters grenades and many abilities and gives her team breathing room during the final rings.

Players should keep ultimate accelerants on hand as Wattson can charge her ultimate from only one, and she can carry two in one slot.
