An artist created a life-sized replica of the Blades of Chaos fromGod of War. The dual fiery blades had been Kratos' signature weapon since the very firstGod of Wargame for the PlayStation 2.
According toGod of Warlore, Ares forged the Blades of Chaos in the depths of the Underworld. They’re two blades attached with a chain and are imbued with fire, igniting enemies with each attack. Throughout the Greek mythology era,Kratos used the weapon to defeat powerful gods, like Zeus and Hades. In the 2018 Norse-eraGod of Wargame, Kratos retired the blades and used the Leviathan Axe for most of the story. He took it out of his stash when he and his son Atreus had to navigate through the icy lands of Helheim.

The Blades of Chaos appear to be massive in the games, and the newer titles intheGod of Warfranchise added more details to the weapon. And now an artist from SintryMir Cosplay Studio shared that they crafted a life-sized version of the blades. In a Reddit post, they mentioned that the length of each blade is 24 inches or 60 centimeters. They gave a closer look at the Blades of Chaos on Instagram, noting that they used real rust on the metal to make it look worn from battle. The grip and cross-guard also have an amazing amount of detail. However, by the looks of their Blades of Chaos, they don’t have a chain holding them together.
SintryMir Cosplay’s Blades of Chaos are available on their website.God of Warfans can opt for the base version ($399) that includes just the blades, and the Chaos Collector’s Edition ($499) that comes with the blades and a pedestal for them. The studio emphasized that both versions can be a great cosplay prop and home decoration.
Although SintryMir’s Blade of Chaos are missing the chain,God of Warfans still seem to love it, calling the recreation “perfect” and “fantastic.” Many have also expressed interest in buying them, and even requested the studio to make one inspired by theleveled-up Blades of Chaos inGod of War Ragnarok. It would be interesting to see different versions of the weapon with various runic attachments, but fans will have to wait and see if the studio will oblige.
The Blades of Chaos are also the first product that the studio is selling among all of their creations. In the past, they made Jinx’s Flame Chompers grenades and Caitlyn’s rifle fromLeague of Legends, which could rival theFishbones NERF replica. Gamers and cosplayers alike will have a lot to expect from this studio.
God of War Ragnarokis available now for PS4 and PS5.
