Concept art for aBlue Beetlefilm-themed PlayStation 5 DualSense controller has been shared by a fan online, prompting requests among fans for an official version or even aBlue Beetlevideo game. Warner Bros. recently released the first full trailer forBlue Beetle, based on the comic book character of the same name. Fans of both theBlue Beetlecomic character and of WB’sDC Comicsmovies have embraced the new film, with this PS5 controller art being just one example.Blue Beetle is one ofDC Comics' oldest creations. His first appearance goes back to 1939. That Blue Beetle, the vigilante son of a police officer, is near unrecognizable compared to the modern Blue Beetle, however. The modern Blue Beetle is named Jaime Reyes and he gained his powers from a mysterious alien scarab. The scarab fuses with Reyes, granting him incredible powers, including the ability to reconfigure his armor into all manner of weapons.RELATED:Warner Has Officially Cast The Lead For Its HBO Max Blue Beetle MovieArtist rahalarts on Twitter must have recently seen the trailer for thenewBlue Beetlemovieand felt inspired. They recently shared a piece of digital concept art they created online showcasing aBlue Beetle-themed PS5 DualSense controller. The controller has clear inspiration from theBlue Beetlefilm, capturing the Blue Beetle’s strange techno-organic suit design in the DualSense Controller’s updated paneling.
It wouldn’t be impossible for Sony to create acustom DualSense controllerakin to what rahalarts has designed, but it certainly wouldn’t be priced the same as other controllers. The techno-organic armor could be made into a flat painting or sticker, of course. But the extra legs and beetle horns on the side and top of the DualSense controller would probably prove a challenge to make. There’s no arguing that the detail work of the custom design looks very cool, though.
The impressiveBlue BeetlePS5 controller design has understandably also led torequests for aBlue Beetlegame. Insomniac Games' work onSpider-Man, as well as the highly anticipatedWolverine, has led some to wonder what aBlue BeetlePS5 exclusive might look like.Blue Beetlefans may have to settle for pushing for him to be on the nextInjusticegame roster, though.
This certainly isn’t rahalarts' first or last piece of fan-art. They note that they specialize in concept art, pop culture fanarts, and alternative movie/TV series posters on their Twitter profile. Examples of their art include a customDoctor Strangemovie poster, a custom Batman glove, Deadpool added to theBarbiemovie’s poster, and much more. Hopefully, they have moreBlue Beetleand PlayStation 5 art to come.
Blue Beetlearrives in theaters August 18.
