Twitch streamer MegMage recently went viral on TikTok by sharing a clip from herBatman: Arkham Knightstream where she reacted to the Man-Bat jump scare. The TikTok has amassed over 200,000 views with over 32,000 likes and 350 comments at the time of this writing.

Fans ofBatman: Arkham Knightwill remember the Man-Bat jump scare well. While exploring the game’sopen world Gotham City, players get used to using Batman’s grappling hook to climb to the top of buildings. Players do this so much that it quickly becomes routine. TheBatman: Arkham Knightdevelopers use this familiarity to execute one of gaming’s best jump scares, as there’s one point where Batman tries to grapple to a rooftop only to come face to face with the monstrous Man-Bat.

MegMage’s clip captures this exactBatman: Arkham KnightMan-Bat jump scare moment and shows the streamer’s reaction to it. Unsurprisingly, MegMage screams in horror as theMan-Bat screeches and swipes at Batmanwith his wing before flying off into the night sky. While later encounters with Man-Bat inBatman: Arkham Knightaren’t quite as scary, longtime fans will know that this is just the beginning of Batman’s interactions with the creature.

The Man-Bat jump scare inBatman: Arkham Knightkicks off theside quest called Creature of the Night, which is all about Batman trying to apprehend Man-Bat. After the initial jump scare, players can take Man-Bat out of the sky and get a blood sample from him. Players have to repeat this process a couple of times before they can take Man-Bat out for good and complete the Creature of the Night side quest.

Engaging side quests like this were well-received whenBatman: Arkham Knightfirst launched, and it will definitely be interesting to see if Rocksteady’s next game incorporates anything similar. It’s been seven long years sinceBatman: Arkham Knightfirst released, but Rocksteady’s next game is expected to drop at some point in 2023 in the form ofSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguetakes place in theBatman: Arkhamuniverse, but it should serve as a departure from Rocksteady’s previous titles in a number of ways. Besides the fact that the game is focused on the titular Suicide Squad,Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguewill also be a co-op experience, whereas theBatmangames were primarily single-player affairs.
