Fallout 4’s Nuka World DLC is certainly a unique experience. Taking players into the heart of the soda company’s public theme park, players will have to settle disputes between rival gangs, power up the old facilities, and scavenge the back rooms that prop up the cheerful facade to uncover some of their darker secrets. Much like theFar Harbor DLC, there are plenty of unique and powerful items players can acquire during their time in Nuka World.
From specialized weapons to some of the best armor sets in the game, players should be aware of some of these missable items to gain as much as possible from exploring the theme park. The following items are among the best available throughout the DLC.
1Acid Soaker
A Modified Pistol Dealing Extreme Corrosive Damage
The Acid Soaker is a unique weapon that shoots out corrosive acid in the same way that the Thirst Zapper shoots water. While not especially powerful in terms of shot-per-shot output, the real power of this weapon lies in steadily weakening enemies through prolonged poison.
This special gun can be acquired from the Nuka-Cade, near the Fizztop Grill in the center of the park. To purchase it, players will need to have gathered 6,000 Nuka-Cade tickets, which can be found as randomloot throughout Nuka World.
2Fragmentation Grenade MIRV
A Specialist Grenade With A Huge Area Of Effect
Fragmentation Grenade MIRVs are one of the best-thrown weapons in the game, bursting into a shower of smaller grenades and causing havoc to large groups of enemies. This handy weapon should not be missed when venturing through Nuka World, and may even be useful for fending off theswarms of robotsthat prowl the theme park.
While powerful, MIRVs are also very rare. There are only three possible places to acquire these grenades throughout the DLC, and those are the dead bodies of each of the faction’s leaders. To obtain them, players will need to eliminate the leaders or steal from them.
3Throatslicer
A Highly Valuable And Effective Short Blade
The Throatsliver is a unique knife that can be found in Nuka World, and it has the special ability to make opponents bleed and an additional +25 Damage points when struck by it. For a short knife, it is certainly a high-tier melee weapon and can be further enhanced with various upgrades such as a Serrated Hacking Blade.
The Throatslicer also has an exceptionally high value for such a small weapon at 3,420 caps, so even for non-melee builds, it can be worth obtaining it to sell it elsewhere. It can be purchased from Katelyn Alden in the Nuka-Town Market.
4Nuka-Girl Rocketsuit
An Iconic Piece Of Memorabilia With Some Practical Advantages
Along with the Vault Boy and Vault Girl, the Nuka Cola Girl is another iconicbrand mascot in theFalloutuniverse, and where better to get her suit than from Nuka World? The suit can be equipped by both genders and can also be applied to companions and mannequins too.
To find the Nuka Girl Rocketsuit, head to the Nuka Galaxy ride in the Galactic Zone. Here, a mannequin can be found riding a rocket and the suit can be taken from it. The suit will grant +1 Charisma as well as the ability to breathe underwater and resist small-to-medium amounts of radiation.
5Gage’s Armor
A Solid Armor Set Which Comes At A Brutal Cost
Porter Gage is a possible companion in the Nuka World DLC and helps the player to become the Overboss when they first enter the territory. Gage has a unique armor set that can be acquired either by killing him or trading when he is a companion.
To meet Gage, players will first have to complete the opening mission of the DLC, “The Gauntlet” and then begin the mission “An Ambitious Plan.” The armor and its accompanying eye patch have good overall stats, but cannot be modified or customized in any way.
6Splattercannon
A Highly Customizable Assault Rifle Based On A Kalashnikov
The Splattercannon is a powerful unique rifle that is especially useful for itsvast range of modifications. Every part of the gun can be changed in one way or another, from lighter grips and slimmer stocks to night-vision sights and drum magazines.
The gun can be bought from Aaron Corbett in the Nuka-Town Market, or alternatively, a unique variant calledThe Problem Solvercan be unlocked by talking to the leader of The Pack, Mason. This will only be possible during the mission “An Ambitious Plan,” following a series of successful speech checks.
7Hub’s Alien Blaster
A Modified Blaster With Increased Damage And Critical Hits
Hub’s Alien Blaster is a special variation of the standard Alien Blaster, which uses special ammunition and causesenergy weapon damage. On top of its solid base stats, Hub’s Alien Blaster also causes Critical Hits to do double damage and refills the Critical Hit meter at a 15% faster rate.
This weapon can be unlocked by completing the mission “Trip to the Stars” in which players must gather five Spacesuits from the Valt-Tech exhibition and bring them back to Dara Hubbel at the Hubologists camp.
8Quantum X-01 Power Armor
This Rare Power Armor Boasts Some Of The Strongest Stats In The Game
The Quantum X-01 Power Armor is a unique,legendary power armor setwith boosted statistics and improved Action Point regeneration. In addition to a whopping 1,700 Damage Resistance (standard X-01s are 1,220), it also has 1,270 Energy Resistance and 1,050 Radiation Resistance, making it one of the strongest armor sets in the entire game.
To unlock the Quantum X-01, players will need to repair the Mainframe in the Starport Nuka building, which is part of the quest “Star Control.” To do this, it will first be necessary to collect all 35 Star Cores in the Galactic Zone.
9Nuka-Nuke Launcher
A Modified Fat Man With A Nuka Cola Theme
The Fat Man is an ideal weapon when things get desperate. Whether faced with an overwhelming swarm of Gunners or a Super Mutant Behemoth, the Fat Man will launch a mini-nuke, causing unmatchable damage and havoc wherever it is fired.
The Nuka-Nuke Launcher is the Nuka World variation of a Fat Man, and it enables players to fire Nuka-Nuke ammo which can be crafted from Mini Nukes and Nuka Cola. The Nuka-Nuke Launcher does considerably more damage than a standard, unmodified Fat Man, making it ideal for taking downhigher-level enemies.
10Aeternus
A Powerful Variation Of The Gatling Laser With Unlimited Ammo Capacity
The Gatling Laser is one of the most powerful weapon types in theFalloutuniverse, and the Aeternus takes it to another level. In addition to its unlimited ammo capacity, it also does nearly double the damage of an ordinary Gatling Laser, and this can beenhanced even further with perksfocused on energy weapons.
To obtain Aeternus, players will need to complete the mission “Amoral Combat” in which various challengers will attempt to run the gauntlet. The enemy named Rogue Knight in the Brotherhood of Steel armor is the one who carries this weapon.
