Over the past two weeks,Borderlands 3players have been enjoying theBL3Farming Frenzy, which focuses on Rare Spawn and drop rates, as well as a Takedown at Maliwan’s Blacksite event that adds scaling to this challenging content. Indeed, these twoBorderlands 3events have renewed a number of players' interest in the title, and while they are set to officially conclude today, January 30, Gearbox Software has just announced that some aspects of these temporary offerings will now be made permanent.
To start, the developer has confirmed that it is permanently increasing the spawn rates for Rare Spawns, which many players that have been participating in theBorderlands 3Farming Frenzy will certainly be happy to hear. Gearbox has not indicated if the permanent spawn rate for Rare Spawns will be identical to what was used in the Farming Frenzy, but players should find that these elusive sources for dedicated loot drops continue to appear more frequently than they did prior to the event.

Additionally, the developer is permanently buffing the drop rates and chance of Anointed gear connected to Rare Spawns. Again, Gearbox does not explicitly confirm that this will be aligned exactly with what was seen during the Farming Frenzy, but the developer does state that the goal is put Rare Spawns' drop rates in line with otherBorderlands 3bosses.
As previously stated, there are also some permanent changes being made toTakedown at Maliwan’s Blacksite. More specifically, Gearbox has decided to make the scaling associated with the aforementioned event permanent, which means that players should continue to find that it is easier to complete Takedowns without a full group. Furthermore, for players that wish to have access to a non-scaled version of this content, a True Takedown Mode will offer exactly that when it arrives in February.
With these announcements, Gearbox once again shows that temporaryBorderlands 3events can serve as testing grounds for more permanent changes. Perhaps that is what the developer has in mind with the recently-revealedRare Chest Riches Event, which will temporarily increase the drop rate of rare loot from Rare Chests, and it could only be a matter of time before Gearbox confirms that those adjustments are here to stay.
