Call of Duty: Modern Warfareannounced the Special Ops survival mode nearly a month after the game’s release in 2019. Despite the game being available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, the survival mode was a PlayStation exclusive. Because of contract with Sony, PlayStation was able to haveCall of Duty: Modern Warfare’s survival mode as a timed-exclusive, but as of October 1 an update has been released that enables survival mode for PC and Xbox One players.
PS4 and Xbox One players have to download an additional compatibility pack to access the co-op mode, but then they will be able to team up with friends to take on waves of enemies. As Season 6 is just starting up inModern WarfareandWarzone, players can earn XP andBattle Pass progressionin the newly-available survival mode on PC and Xbox One.

Special Ops survival mode was not the only PlayStation exclusive feature included inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare. PlayStation 4 players also had exclusive weapon mission challenges, weapon blueprints, andWarzonecombat packs. These challenges and rewards were timed-exclusive content, and are now available for all platforms as well.
Every new season of content has added at least one map for survival mode, withModern WarfareSeason 5 adding the Crash map, and the new Season 6 map being Hovec Sawmill. Nine maps are currently available for survival mode that drastically range in size and layout, meaning players will have different strategies for each. Players may be able to run and gun on maps like Shoot House, while others like St. Petrograd may require long-range combat and careful positioning.
While PC and Xbox players enjoy the new game mode, challenges, and rewards, Sony will have new timed-exclusive content with the upcomingCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Before the game’s release, PlayStation players have gotten exclusive access to theBlack Ops Cold Waralpha, and are able to play the upcoming beta a week before any other platform.
Although PlayStation players received exclusive access to these builds, no other significant PlayStation exclusives forBlack Ops Cold Warhave been announced.Zombies mode has recently been confirmed forBlack Ops Cold War, and it will be available for both PC and Xbox players as well. Zombies will launch alongsideBlack Ops Cold War, so PlayStation players will be able to try it alongside other platforms this November.
