Activision revealed a fan-favorite weapon from a belovedCall of Dutygame that is coming back in Season 3 ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2andCall of Duty: Warzone 2. The March 15 update also brought several weapon balance adjustments and bug fixes to round out the overall multiplayer experience in both titles. Season 3 is approaching just four weeks afterthe Season 2 Reloaded update, however. Activision confirms the FJX Imperium sniper rifle will be available in Season 3 on April 12 as a reward from the new Battle Pass. At first, FaZe Dirty did not know the exact reason why Infinity Ward reached out to him for the playtest, but the famous player quickly realized after seeing the revamped sniper rifle in the loadout menu.

The Intervention was one of the most beloved weapons from the originalModern Warfare 2title, and the FJX Imperium appears to maintain some qualities that made the sniper rifle so iconic. For example, FJX Imperium features its signature Intervention design while having new sound effects for firing and reloading. FaZe Dirty tested the FJX Imperium sniper rifle on the all-new Pelayo’s Lighthouse 6v6 map, which will also make its debut inModern Warfare 2Season 3.

The Intervention sniper rifle influenced an entire subculture ofCall of Dutyfans during its time, and the weapon appears to be making a triumphant return with some new twists. In the originalModern Warfare 2, Intervention attracted many players who preferred sniper rifles for a multitude of reasons including its ease of use and brilliant sniper scope. The new gameplay video appears to show that fans of the Intervention may still enjoy the FJX Imperium while appreciating its differences.

Ultimately,Call of Dutyplayers will need to test the FJX Imperium once Season 3 launches to see if it lives up to the legacy of Intervention.Future updates forModern Warfare 2andWarzone 2may adjust the weapon if balancing issues or bugs arise during the new season as well.
