Call of Duty: Vanguardfeatures a good variety of killstreaks, though some are certainly stronger than others. For example, one of the more powerful killstreaks available is the Flamenaut - though aCall of Duty: Vanguardplayer has discovered a way to instantly counter players that are using it.

While someCall of Duty: Vanguardkillstreakscause visual issues or backfire on their users, the Flamenaut’s biggest strength is that players in the suit are so tough to take down. While the flamethrower equipped when using the armored suit does require players to get up close, the Juggernaut suit provides so much protection that it does not really matter. Further, it is hard to tell when someone in the Flamenaut suit is low on health, so players may avoid shooting it completely and just run away instead.

However, oneCall of Duty: Vanguardplayerseems to have found the Flamenaut’s weakness. While one would expect a Sniper Rifle or Launcher of some kind to be the go-to weapon for taking out a Flamenaut, no gun is used in the clip at all. Instead, players only need to equip the bayonet on the end of their weapon of choice. Reddit user Inning showed that Flamenauts are ridiculously weak to this blade, with a single hit from the melee attack taking out those using the streak.

WithCall of Duty: Vanguard’s Dead Drop bugmaking Flamenauts more common than they should be, this bayonet trick may be a necessary evil on the part of players. While it is likely frustrating to deal with on the part of the Flamenaut user, as a 9 killstreak can be wasted if they are stabbed before doing some damage, the move is not cost-free for the person with the bayonet. Flamenauts self-destruct when they die, and landing a melee attack puts players in range of the death blast. As such, they will be sacrificing themselves to save their teammates from being burned alive.

With the bayonet trick being shockingly strong, it was likely not intentional on the part of Sledgehammer Games.Call of Duty: Vanguard’s bayonethas already been called broken by the game’s community, as the attachment allows players to get melee kills from ridiculous ranges. With the bayonet already on Sledgehammer’s radar because of the absurd ranged kills, the developer will likely find out that it is also insta-killing Flamenauts soon.

With the bayonet trick likely to be nerfed sooner rather than later, players should make use of it while they can. With thehighly requested Face Off modenot currently available, the bayonets should make one ofCall of Duty: Vanguard’s killstreaks less troublesome for those that are tired of seeing them used.

Call of Duty: Vanguardis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
