Activision’sCall of Duty: Warzonehas certainly been met with acclaim from fans of theCall of Dutyseries and fans of battle royale games, but has also hit its fair share of criticism thanks to some glitches. Said glitches have been present from the start of the game and continue to appear, ranging from small visual hiccups tolaunching players straight into the skyfor no apparent reason.

While the glitches inCall of Duty: Warzonecan be hilarious when watching them happen to someone else, they are distinctly less fun to experience firsthand.

Normally, getting gunned down early on in aWarzonematch is not the end of the world, as players have an opportunity to shoot their way out of the Gulag for a second shot at winning. One of the most recent glitches discovered in the game is putting a damper on those plans, however, as one piece of equipment seems to be a bit more powerful than intended in the Gulag. The proximity mine auxiliary weapon has becomeone of the best lethals to carrysince, according to some Reddit users, it is sticking around a bit too long after the person who set it leaves the Gulag, resulting in the mine killing new players who have just spawned.

It is likely that this is less of a glitch and more of an oversight on the lifetime of the proximity mines relative to the lifespan of the player who dropped them. After all, several similar weapons in otherCODtitles linger after death specifically to set up revenge kills. In previous titles, however, such unexpected deaths do not rob players of their one chance to continue a match. Players can only hope thatActivision will do enough to curbthis kind of cheap death so players do not have to worry about exploding as soon as they enterWarzone’s Gulag.

As obnoxious as this sort of death is when actually experiencing it, it is impossible to deny that there is a definite comedic angle as well for anyone spectating. SeveralWarzoneglitches have been simultaneously game-ruining and funny, which has hopefully taken the edge off an undeserved loss for the players who experienced them. Besides the mines, other highlights include the aforementioned sky-launch, andhaving a gun spontaneously become a dog.

Still, no amount of laughts can make up for consistent problems, so here’s hoping that Activision fixes the hacking and glitches that still plagueWarzone. Should they need help, there are plenty of players and evenhackers ready to give suggestionson how to do it.
