One of the most challenging parts of balancing a battle royale game likeCall of Duty: Warzoneis finding the right time-to-kill (TTK), something that Raven Software is still working on. Unfortunately, the developer’s new strategy has angeredCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers, as many feel like it will reward less-skilled players.

Call of Duty: Warzone’s TTKhas been regularly criticized as being too quick for a battle royale title. This was most apparent near the start ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s integration, as weapons like the DMR 14 killed players as quick as they could in multiplayer. While no weapons are that overpowered in the current version of the game, that does not mean TTK is not an issue. However, Raven’s latest plan to raise TTK is causing uproar.

Recently, theCall of Duty: Warzonedevelopershared its plans to lower the ADS speed for every gun in the game. From SMGs to Sniper Rifles, weaponry will be slower, meaning that fights could last longer. The goal is to stop skilled players from jumping around corners and rushing into buildings to gun down foes before they can react. While this sounds appealing on paper, many feel as if the ADS adjustments are a slippery slope, with Redditor DefunctHunk_COD starting a thread that highlights the issues.

TheCall of Duty: Warzoneplayer’s post is massive, covering how the adjustment will only add to the game’s current issues. They believe this approach only benefits the players that are camping in corners and pre-aiming, and it is hard to argue against their opinion. They cite the controversial change toCall of Duty: Warzone’s loadout dropsand the many bushes around Caldera as further examples of Raven “decreasing the skill gap.” With 800 upvotes and many comments making similar statements, such as the one from stylomastoid_foramen, it is clear the player is not alone in this belief.

The post is not just aimless criticism, however, as the player also suggests a different way to fix TTK: raising the base health pool to 150 or 200. While this may seem like a simple change, a similar approach was taken with theIron Trials LTM, a mode that turned out to be a huge success. While it remains to be seen if the ADS changes will go through after all the complaints from streamers and regular players, it does seem like most dislike the approach. Soon,Call of Duty: Warzonecould be seeing a hipfire and Sniper meta like sh1mbq theorizes about in the post’s comments.

Alongside heated debates about balancing,Call of Duty: Warzonecheating seems to be on the riseonce again. With bugs becoming increasingly prevalent, too, Raven Software certainly has its hands full.

Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
