WhenCall of Duty: Warzonefirst launched last week, it launched with only a trios mode, meaning players are forced to be in a team with two other players at all times. However, that has changed this week, as Infinity Ward has released a new update forCall of Duty: Warzonethat allows for a true solo mode.
Before the new update,Call of Duty: Warzoneplayers that wanted to play by themselvescould technically do so by choosing not to fill their squad. However, this put them at a distinct disadvantage, as it meant that they would be by themselves, yet everyone else in the match would have partners watching their back. In Battle Royale Solo,Call of Duty: Warzoneplayers can play by themselves, but have an even playing field as everyone else in the match will be alone as well.

At the time of this writing, it’s unclear if this mode will be permanent inCall of Duty: Warzonemoving forward, or if it will only be available for a limited time. Its longevity may very well depend on its popularity, so those who prefer a solo mode inWarzonebattle royale will want to be sure to check it out.
It’s always been assumed that Infinity Ward would addmore team size options inCall of Duty: Warzone, but few expected those options to come just a week after the game’s launch. If nothing else, this shows that Infinity Ward will supportCall of Duty: Warzonejust as much as it supports the standardCall of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Moving forward, it’s likely that even more team size options will be added toCall of Duty: Warzone. Infinity Ward has already said that it’s been “playing with"4- and 5-person squads inWarzone, which would be interesting to say the least.
For those hoping for larger team sizes, it seems likely thatWarzonewill add 5-player squads before it does 4-player squads. The reason being that theWarzoneplayer count is 150 players, which does not divide evenly by 4. Of course, Infinity Ward could change the player count in the game to implement 4-player squads if it wants to, but it may make more sense to just start with 5-player squads. With how quickly Infinity Ward added Solos toWarzone, hopefully fans won’t have to wait too much longer for larger team sizes in the game.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
