NORCO, one of 2022’s highest-rated new video game releases, will be coming toXbox Game Passnext month.NORCOis a critically-acclaimed point-and-click adventure game that released earlier this year for PC. When it launched on PC,NORCOwas a day one PC Game Pass game, but soon Xbox console gamers will be able to see what all the fuss is about. And not only isNORCOjoining the vanillaXbox Game Passlineup, but it’s also coming to PlayStation consoles as well.

NORCOwill be hitting vanilla Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One and Xbox Series X on October 20. That same day, versions of the game will be made available for PS4 and PS5 consoles. While those on PlayStation won’t be able to playNORCOthrough a subscription service like Xbox gamers can, the game may still be worth checking out, especially for fans of thepoint-and-click adventure game genre.

InNORCO, players take on the role of Kay, who returns to her hometown of Norco, Louisiana after her mother’s death. The game is set in the far future, combining noir and cyberpunk elements to create an interesting game world full of augmented humans, androids, cults, and mysteries to solve. While there is certainly serious subject matter,NORCOis also notable for having a sharp wit and strong sense of humor, which helps make it consistently entertaining from start to finish.NORCOis also fairly short, so those interested can pop in and complete it without committing too much time to the game.

For those unfamiliar with the game’s critical reception,NORCOearned rave reviews when it first launched, with praise for its music, story, and its clever twists on traditional point-and-click adventure game features. It currently has a 90 overall critic rating according to review aggregate site OpenCritic, which makes it the third-highest rated game of the year at the time of this writing. The only games ahead of it are puzzle gameFreshly Frosted, which has a 91 rating, and FromSoftware’s open world action-RPG epicElden Ring.Elden Ringis the highest-rated game of the year so far, with an impressive 95 rating.

NORCOwill just be the latest highly-rated 2022 game to hit Xbox Game Pass when it joins the lineup on October 20. Recently,Sam Barlow’sImmortalitywas added to Xbox Game Passas a day one game, with it too receiving rave reviews from critics.
