Curse of the Dead Godsis a fantastically challenging roguelike that brings together the importance of skill, luck, and the right weapon for the job. Luckily,no matter what weapon players choose to use, they can do some great damage and get far in the game. But having the wrong tool makes life particularly challenging inCurse of the Dead Gods, which is why it’s key to look out for one of the strongest main weapons.

Ultimately, the best weapon for the player is somewhat based on their preferences and how they choose to play the game. That being said, as it goes with most roguelikes or RPGs, not every weapon was made equally.

8Warmonger’s Claws

When it comes to fighting somenasty enemies or terrible bosses, players need some nasty weapons to back up their chaos. This is where the Warmonger Claws come in. They look cool, do a decent amount of damage, and have an ability that could be particularly useful to certain players.

This ability will grant the player an extra 3% of their damage. Now all this depends on the amount of constitution they have, so the higher the constitution, the more damage this weapon is capable of. For anyone who prioritizes this stat, the Warmonger’s Claws are ideal.

7Abnegation, Xbeltz’aloc’s Blade

It’s well known that when it comes to main weapons, swords are the quickest. They may not do the most damage in one go but they hit fast and hit well. This is the case with the deadly, Abnegation. It has a good amount of damage, despite being a little expensive to unlock, but will certainly hold its own.

This is primarily due to its ability. Too many times players explore the world around them only to get attacked and end up dying over and over again. It’s incredibly frustrating. Luckily, with this ability, those days may be over. Essentially, Abnegation gives players ofCurse of the Dead Gods, the ability to interrupt an enemy’s attacks using a finisher or charged move. This can be particularly useful when players are on death’s door.

6Venomous Fangs

These sort of mythical claws are great fun to use. They’re not the most powerful when it comes to damage but the ability makes them well worth it if the player likes to do some longer-lasting damagewithin this great roguelike.

Any attack done on an enemy with the Venomous Fangs claws will do poison damage rather than regular damage. This means the player will still do the same base damage of the claws but it will keep doing damage over time. Perfect if there’s more than one pesky creature needing to be hit.

5Gambit, Xbeltz’aloc’s Gauntlet

While many of the other claw weapons are great, this one is easily one of the best-looking main weapons in thisroguelike. It looks like it does some great damage, and while it certainly does some good damage, it doesn’t quite make it to the best in the game.

This is primarily due to the lower base damage. Luckily, the fact this grants the player an extra hit during the dash if they land a charged attack before makes it well worth it. It grants the players one more try to take them down quickly.

4Sidewinder Sword

With speed on its side, it’s easy to go for the swords. After all, more attacks mean more damage which means more success. While that does add up, the only thing this roguelike puts in to stop that is stamina. It can be the bane of players' existence, particularly sword users.

Luckily, with the Sidewinder Sword, as well as having a base damage of 15, it also allows the finisher moves to be free. They cost no stamina, allowing players to stay fighting for longer andkeep hold of some stamina.

3Seeker’s Mace

If the player calls themselves a bit ofa hoarder of relicsthen this mace is perfect. It’s got a base damage of 20 and costs nothing to unlock, making it extremely powerful and accessible.

That power also extends to its ability which works particularly well with anyone who carries relics and loves working with them. this is mainly due to the fact that the mace will increase in damage by 5% depending on the level of the relics the player has on their person. The more levels, the higher damage.

2Desperation, Xbeltz’aloc’s Scepter

As one of the more colorful maces in the game, it’s easy to see why Desperation is a favorite among many players. It looks awesome, has a base damage of 20, and is free to unlock.

The base damage of 20 doesn’t necessarily mean it stays that way throughout the run ofthis roguelike. Similar to the Seeker’s Mace, the base damage increases from its ability. This time the base damage increases during the battle itself, focusing primarily on increasing based on the percentage of missing hit points the player has at the time. The more damaged they get, the more powerful they’ll be.

1Moonblade, Nights Sword

While not quite living up toMarvel’s Moon Knight, this Moonblade sword is worthy of any player getting hold of it. On top of it being a speedy sword, this weapon does the most amount of base damage when compared with any other sword inCurse of the Dead Gods. It’s easily the most powerful main weapon in the game.

This is due to the fact it has a base damage of 20 and has an ability that can damage a multitude of enemies around the player. One charged attack will trigger a dash that will badly damage all enemies the player crosses. This is wonderful for any fight but fantastic for groups of enemies.
