Late last year CD Projekt Red officially unveiled the DLC expansion forCyberpunk 2077titledPhantom Liberty. The initial trailer for the DLC was sparse on content, but did reveal some key information. Mainly, it showed that the New United States of America would play a big role in it. With this connection established, it could very well be that protagonist V may come face to face with NUSA President Rosalind Myers in theCyberpunk 2077DLC.
Throughout the game’s runtime, V bumps shoulders with some pretty big people in Night City. This includes some of the biggest members of the Arasaka Corporation as well as future Night City mayorJefferson Peralez in one ofCyberpunk 2077’s more memorable side quests. With the character having met so many prestigious people in the game’s universe, it would not be unreasonable to assume that V could meet the current president of the New United States.

Rosalind Myers and the New United States of America In Cyberpunk 2077
The actual history of theNew United States of America within theCyberpunk 2077universe is quite dense and goes back several decades. In the game itself, what was the United States is divided among several factions with the NUSA being the most powerful and comprised of several former states on the East Coast. Roughly eight years prior to the game’s events the NUSA attempted to conquer the other territories and reunify all the former United States of America in an event known as the Unification War. This ultimately did not go in the direction that the NUSA hoped for, and a peace agreement was signed in the Free States' favor.
In the game’s universe, the president of the NUSA is Rosalind Myers. Various pieces of background info reveal that the character used to be the CEO of Militech, one of the mostpowerful organizations inCyberpunk 2077. She resigned upon becoming president of the NUSA and opinions on her in Night City are divided. By the time the game begins, she is on her third term as president and was one of the big driving forces behind the Unification War. DuringCyberpunk 2077, it appears that the relations between the various factions have broken down and Myers may be attempting to finish what she started which, in turn, could put her on a collision path with V.
A Possible Meeting with the President of the New United States of America
The actual story of Phantom Liberty is still being kept under wraps. The first trailer revealed that the NUSA would be involved in the story and that whatever was initially planned had gone horribly wrong. Thesecond trailer for theCyberpunk 2077DLCdropped more clues, revealing that the DLC’s main mission involved a region of Pacifica known as Dog Town and FIA member Solomon Reed played by Idris Elba. What still isn’t clear is what this mission involves or why the NUSA is so interested in the region.
What is likely, however, is thatSolomon Reed can’t be trusted inCyberpunk 2077. Authority figures throughout the game are infamously two-faced, and it’s likely that whatever Idris Elba’s character is doing, he’s doing what he thinks is for the best for his nation. However, should V take Reed’s side in whatever moral decisions the DLC will undoubtedly throw at the player, it could elevate the character’s position within the NUSA. While it is unlikely that the character will meet President Rosalind Myers in person, it’s not unreasonable to assume that she could call the player character and thank them for their contribution.
Ultimately, it’s impossible to say whether Rosalind Myers will appear in the game. TheCyberpunk 2077DLC will likely set up the groundwork for future sequels, but it’s hard to say how much it will affect V’s story. However, the possibility remains that with the character’s new employers, V’s path could very well collide with that of the president of the NUSA.
Cyberpunk 2077is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
