Season 12 ofDestiny 2is coming to a close on February 9. Bungie introduced the Season of Hunt alongside its big expansion, Beyond Light, in November of 2020. Players were sent to Europa for the first time after the Traveler healed from the wounds suffered during the Red War. Variks, a local fallen Vandal, warned the guardians about Eramis, the main antagonist in the Beyond Light story. The consensus regarding the main campaign was positive. Europa is thelargest destination inDestiny 2that only includes one landing zone, which was a complaint among the community, but that’s about to change.

When a player is inDestiny 2’sdirector, a full-size map of Europa will be shown. Areas such as Cadmus Ridge, Asterion Abyss, Eventide Ruins, Beyond, and Charon’s Crossing are able to be explored without traversing into the depths of each one. At the launch of Beyond Light, only one landing zone was available, which was located in Charon’s Crossing. Variks, the planet’s vendor, is located there. Similar to the Dreaming City location from the Forsaken expansion, it takes a good amount of time to get from one end on a sparrow to the other, since only one landing zone is available there as well.

Bungie announced today on Twitter that if its tweet got seven likes, that a new landing zone will beintroduced when Season 13comes out in early-February. This will provide relief to veteran players who are very familiar with Europa already. Speculation leads the community to believe the new landing zone to be placed in the Eventide Ruins, as it will help split the map into two ends.

As it stands,Destiny 2’stweet has over 28,000 likes. Europa will receive the necessary change with the new season, and players already have a firm grasp on what is expected in Season 13. Avendor refresh is confirmedas well as how rewards will be dispersed. For example, theDestiny 2community no longer needs Crucible tokens from Lord Shaxx. Instead, as the player levels up their Crucible rank, rewards will be shown on-screen. Judging by a screenshot in Bungie’s TWAB (This Week at Bungie), an Ascendant Shard appears to be the rank reset reward.

This is a great quality-of-life change forDestiny 2and it comes at an opportune time. Aside from the Harbinger quest andchallenging Hawkmoon mission, players are ready for more content to be delivered. Bungie still has two more blog entries to publish between January 27 and early-February. A “State of the Game” is expected as well, which should bring more information to the table about whatDestiny 2players can expect leading into the Spring and Summer of 2021. Bungie already announced its big DLC, as the Witch Queen is set to arrive later this year.

Destiny 2: Beyond Lightis now available PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
