The week manyDestiny 2players have been waiting for finally arrived as the anticipatedEpilogue event for Season of the Splicerfinally put an end to the storyline between Mithrax and Lakshmi-2. While the event did answer many questions, it also left the door open with regards to Savathun and what she’s planning ahead of the Witch Queen expansion. However, with the expansion reveal event set for a couple weeks from now, players may get answers soon.

Along with the expansion reveal event, Season 15 is also rapidly approaching. With the story and name of the season still under wraps by Bungie, the studio has been very forthcoming about sandbox changes and some of the new content players will be seeing. The big reveal this week revolved around the refreshing of certain underused exotics, making gear like The Bombardiers, Precious Scars, The Stag, and others more viable. It’s also introducing ahard cap for exotics that return super energy such as Shards of Galanor, preventing them from undermining some of the more difficult content in the game.

Speaking of exotics, the weekend gear merchant Xur has made his return toDestiny 2with new inventory over the next few days. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cypher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic gear he’s brought for the weekend of July 12, 2025.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, Xur is back on the ledge of the European Dead Zone.

Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.

Class Armor and Exotic Cypher

While Xur’s role is essentially the same as it was prior to the Beyond Light expansion, the exotic merchant also has weekly quests that players can acquire to unlock an exotic cypher. Not only are these required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary toacquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cypher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clanmates or finishing more challenging activities.

Other than that, here are Xur’s three gear pieces this weekend:

Vesper of Radius - Warlock chest armor

The formerly troublesome Vesper of Radius is in stock this weekend. It is a subclass neutral exotic that enhances the Warlock’s Rift ability. Planetary Torrent releases an arc shockwave when the rift is first cast and recharges it faster if the player is surrounded by enemies. Even after being buffed last year, the item still isn’t quite top tier, though some players have managed to get the most out of it with a few tricks.

The roll is actually pretty good this weekend with a really high total of 63. Even if this gear isn’t a top tier Warlock exotic, it may still be worth checking out.

Graviton Forfeit - Hunter helm

This week, the Graviton Forfeit is in stock for Nightstalker Hunters. When equipped, its exotic perk Vanishing Shadow nearly doubles the duration of invisibility effects and increases melee recharge speed while invisible.

While normally this is an easy item to pass on, this is one of the exotics that Bungie has specifically mentioned that Graviton Forfeit is getting a rework/changes to make it more appealing in Season 15. As such, it may be worth picking up this week in preparation. It also helps that the stat roll is quite high, coming in at 66 total.

Synthoceps - Titan gauntlets

The Synthoceps feature Biotic Enhancements, the item’s intrinsic perk, which not only buffs melee range, but also damage when the player is surrounded by enemies. Similar to theHunter’s exotic gauntlets Liar’s Handshake, this item can make Titan players very powerful.

While it may not be the best Titan exotic, it’s no doubt a fun one to play around with especially in this current season. Similar to the Warlock’s Felwinter’s Helm exotic, many of the seasonal mods and Warmind Cells can result in room clearing damage when paired with this gear. These are going to be in a tough spot starting in Season 15 as Warmind Cells are getting a fairly large nerf, which will impact the usability here. Ultimately, it’s not a required purchase by any means, though it may be worth it for those who want to mess around and have a bit of fun before Season 15.

Solar Enhanced. Stat Values:

Exotic Weapon

Theonce fabled Prometheus Lensis back with Xur this week. Prismatic Inferno is its intrinsic perk which makes the weapon fire a Solar beam and generate a damaging heat field that grows while the weapon continues to fire. Its other unique perk is Flame Refraction which returns a fraction of the ammo used to the magazine from reserves, extending the beam’s duration.

While it’s no where near as strong as it was when it first arrived to the game, players may be seeing this weapon a bit more than usual thanks to the Momentum Control playlist inside of the Crucible this week. While not a typical choice for most activities, the gun can be fun to use so it’s a solid pickup this week.
