The stealthier side of the Rogue’s kit inDiablo 4is often overlooked, but it can prove to be more than worthy when pitted against the game’s hardest difficulty mode. Builds that revolve around invisibility won’t be as fast as the meta Twisting Blades setup, but they offer a totally new way to enjoy the class that’s still powerful in the late game.

Supreme Death Trap
Since playerswill be in melee rangemost of the time when using this build,Improved Flurrywill be the Core Skill of choice. It deals good AOE, and it can spread Vulnerable to everything it hits. Support this withFundamental Puncturefor instant Vulnerable application.
TakeDisciplinedShadow Stepfor the Unstoppable buff andMixedShadow Imbuementfor AOE and synergy with Legendary Aspects.SubvertingPoison Trapwill help buff damage against tough targets, whileDeath Trapwill handle big hordes.
The build has a lot of built-in stuns, which will allow players to enjoy Disciplined Shadow Steps shorter cooldown and Subverting Poison Trap’s increased damage.

Close Quarters Combat
The passive skill setup is very similarto other Rogue buildsthat use traps and Crowd Control effects.
Rapid Gambitshelps reduce the cooldown of Evade, allowing for more Stealth and Stun Grenade spam. Meanwhile, the Concussive and Trap Mastery skills increase the player’s damage output against anything knocked down by Poison Trap. The rest are here to provide bonuses to DPS and survivability.
Every Key Passive except for Precision is useful for this build. However,Close Quarters CombatandMomentumare the most reliable since they don’t rely on Lucky Hits. Use thePreparationSpecialization to minimize Death Trap’s downtime.
Retribution (Amulet)
Opportunist (Ring)
The core Aspects of this build are Surprise, Opportunist, and Lethal Dusk. With all three combined, players will be able to skirt through mobs of enemies while leaving behind countless Stun Grenades, opening them up to massive follow-up damage while they’re disabled.
Lethal Dusk grants free Stealth when players evade through a Shadow Imbuement-affected enemy. Lay down a Poison Trap with the Infiltrator Aspect, then break Stealth with Puncture and Flurry. Not only will they get stunned, but they’ll also become Vulnerable, Knocked Down, and be more likely to get critically struck thanks to the passive skills above.

One noteworthy Unique Rogue item here isEyes in the Dark, a chestpiece that makesDeath Trapconstantly rearm itself until it hits a player or a boss. With this item equipped, Death Trap will continue triggering and killing every enemy within its radius—stun enemies on top of it for maximum effect.
Players should ideally have boots that give more Evade charges or stats that reduce Evade’s cooldown.
Paragon Boards
Deadly Ambushis the perfect Paragon Board for trap builds. Its Legendary and Rare nodes increase damage dealt to enemies affected by traps, along with a handful of Armor and Resistance-related bonuses.
The Ambush and Combat Glyphs take priority over everything else. The former further increases damage to trapped enemies, while the latter increases Energy Regeneration when hitting critical strikes.
Cunning Stratagemis a good third board option since it has a lot of Core Skill damage bonuses.Tricks of the Tradeworks well here too, since players will regularly alternate between Puncture and Flurry.
Diablo 4is available now on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5.
