Diablo 4has a good cropping of classes for all types of players. They can choose to start as a Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Rogue, or Sorcerer and they can even customize their looks which is a huge first for the series. As good as these class choices are, fans assuredly are missing other classes from the series.

To date, there have been fourteen classes in the series with some of those being retooled versions of others. With five down, that leaves nine that could get added via DLC. What classes should be the top priority inDiablo 4for Blizzard?

8Warrior

The Warrior is a pretty standard class in an RPG from this series to games likeFinal Fantasy. It only appeared in one game,Diablo, as one of the three starter classes. One of the perks of the Warrior from that game was that they could repair their own gear which was a huge boon for players.

In a world filled with Barbarians and other melee-focused classes, there doesn’t seem to be a need for pure Warriors anymore. Including a Warrior now inDiablo 4with the Barbarianpresent would be a nostalgia play at best.

7Assassin

An Assassin class can mean a lot of things in video games. One of the most famous assassin games currently isAssassin’s Creedwhich has perfected stealth-based gameplay. The Assassin only appeared once viaDiablo 2’sexpansion which was like a reworked Rogue from the first game.

The Assassin used more cloaking and shadow abilities to get their work done. There are a lot of differences between the two skill-wise but the similarities are even bigger. SinceRogues are already inDiablo 4, adding an Assassin to the mix would make the game feel bloated.

6Amazon

The Amazon class is another that only appeared in the series once via a base class inDiablo 2. It was a melee-based fighter like many others, but it has the advantage of reach. Amazons used spears as their melee weapon of choice and they could also use bows.

The spear alone would make it unique amongst the current choices inDiablo 4. It would be cool to see what Blizzard would do with a modern Amazon along with the cool spears and lances they would make.

5Wizard

Wizards are like the standard magic class when it comesto most RPGs. For theDiabloseries, it began with Sorcerers instead of Wizards which were pretty much a retooled version of them. They first appeared inDiablo 3and have since gone on toDiablo Immortal.

Again, like most classes on here, there might not be a need for a Wizard with the Sorcerer around inDiablo 4. That said, Blizzard could easily differentiate the two by giving Wizards different elemental spells that Sorcerers can’t handle.

4Witch Doctor

Witch Doctors are magic users as well but they fall more in line with the darker side of conjuring. They appeared inDiablo 3and were like a newer version of the Necromancer. They did have some abilities to summon minions like the Necromancer, but they mostly dealt with curses and poisons.

They were a great class to have ona co-op teamas they could wear bosses down with afflictions. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to bring them back as they are different enough from Necromancers.

3Monk

In most RPGs, the fastest classes are typically Rogues. In the Diablo series, Monks are one of the speedier classes instead and they rule. They strike enemies with lightning-fast jabs and can perform holy magic as well.

They have appeared in most of these games including the expansion to the first game,Diablo 3, andDiablo Immortalas well. Their lack of support inDiablo 4is sorely missed for many reasons. If players know how to build their Monks correctly, they can be overpowered just like in theFinal Fantasyseries.

2Demon Hunter

Demon Hunter is another unique class that fans are sad got excluded fromDiablo 4. They were part ofDiablo 3’sstarter class set and they are inDiablo Immortaltoo. So, at least they haven’t suffered a one-and-done situation. What makes this class great is its emphasis on long-range attacking.

The class looks straight out of another game, kind of like a medieval version ofDante fromDevil May Cry. Instead of guns, Demon Hunters use twin crossbows as one of their weapon combinations. If theDiabloseries ever got a spinoff that wasn’t a looter RPG, Demon Hunters would make great protagonists.

1Crusader/Paladin

This final entry is a tie as both the Crusader and Paladin share a lot of DNA. Paladins were first and they basically replaced Warriors asDiablo 2base characters. They were strong, boasted good defense, and could use holy magic like Monks. Crusaders were like beefier versions of Paladins that emphasized giant shields and hammers.

Crusaders appeared in the expansion toDiablo 3and they are currently inDiablo Immortalas well. Since Crusaders are in the mobile game, Paladins should come back instead as they have only been around for one adventure.A good RPGparty needs a Paladin to lead the way especially when the literal gates of Hell are involved.
