Disney Dreamlight Valleyfans have wasted no time befriending iconic characters and getting them to move into their homes, with 17 different characters already able to be placed throughout the game world. With several regions available, there is a decent amount of space to place all the characters’ abodes, but this space will fill up quickly. With so many iconic figures set to come toDisney Dreamlight Valleysoon, this could quickly become an issue Gameloft has to address.
Based on the announced characters and the key art forDisney Dreamlight Valley, fans know that Scar,Simba, Stitch, Belle, Buzz Lightyear, and Woody are coming, all of which will likely require homes to be placed throughout the valley. Rapunzel is another likely addition given Mother Gothel’s presence in the game, while Lilo may accompany Stitch and The Beast could follow Belle to the game. Throw in references franchises likeWreck it RalphandMonsters Inc.and it becomes apparent that the roster will grow exponentially - something that could lead to the world feeling cramped with characters and homes.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Players Could Quickly Run Out of Space Soon
Disney Dreamlight Valleyis only so bigeven with all the regions opened up. While progressing with quests to open up bridges and expand certain areas will help matters, it will not be long before players find locations feeling crowded with characters and structures. This could become especially frustrating if it limits movement and makes it hard to engage with certain activities.
WhileDisney Dreamlight Valleyfans can move the houses of sea-lovingcharacters like Arielout into the ocean, ensuring that it is always easy to go fishing, the same could not be said for dig spots and mining areas. Eventually, if enough houses are placed in every single region, players could be covering up their dig spots or blocking off mining areas by mistake. Additionally, they could be limiting the spawns of flowers and spices, making it harder to progress through quests, gather cooking ingredients, or collect gifts for villagers.
How Disney Dreamlight Valley Can Alleviate Its Character Problem
WhenDisney Dreamlight Valleyreaches somewhere around the 25-character mark,Gameloftshould look into ways to let players manage space. One obvious solution would be the addition of new regions, with players potentially moving below or beyond the castle to explore and customize unmapped areas ofDreamlight Valley. There seems to be a fair bit of space above the Forgotten Lands region on the game’s map, so perhaps an update could see this region unlocked, instantly giving players more space to spread out character homes.
Additionally, Gameloft could let players decide who lives in their valley and who stays in their realm. Not only would this allow players to fill their world with characters they actually like, leaving out figures like Kristoff fromFrozenor Prince Eric fromThe Little Mermaidif they dislike them, but it would also give them a reason to go back to realms regularly. Right now, realms become useless once all the quests tied to them are finished, but that could change if unwanted characters actually lived within their realm. If a player decides they do not want a character living in Dreamlight Valley, they could still be able to visit their houses and complete their quests by stopping to their associated realm.
Though these workarounds would force Gameloft to develop new content, be that realms for characters who currently do not have one or newregions for Dreamlight Valley, it would be worthwhile in the long run. While the game should absolutely get new characters at a steady pace, players would surely be unhappy if their valleys lost their beauty due to an overabundance of houses. Avoiding this issue and others, like homes blocking traversal or activities, should be a priority.
