Dying Light 2is one of the first big video game releases of 2022, setting players loose in an open world full of zombies and other deadly threats. ThefirstDying Lightgameimpressed many and earned mostly positive reviews at the time of its release, and it seems that there are quite a few people looking forward to the sequel as a result.

Dying Light 2is currently at the top of Steam’s wishlists, beating outElden Ringand a number of other high profile games. The rest of the top five consists ofParty Animals,Hollow Knight: Silksong, and theGod of WarPC port. One could make the argument thatDying Light 2may be ahead ofElden RingbecauseDying Light 2’s release date comes first, but it’s worth pointing out thatGod of Warwill be out before all the aforementioned games andHollow Knight: Silksongdoesn’t have a release date at all.

For those who may not have been following the game,Dying Light 2was first announced at E3 2018 four years ago as part of Microsoft’s press conference. Development updates on the game were few and far between after its initial announcement, and there werereports ofDying Light 2having some development issues. The game was scheduled to launch at the end of 2021, but was delayed to its current February 4 release date.

Dying Light 2has finished development and developer Techland has been keeping fans hyped by dropping small teases of what they can expect from the game. For example, Techland revealed thatDying Light 2will have over 500 items for players to equip, and more recently, it showed offDying Light 2’s skill trees. It seems fan can expect to continue receiving these small teases as we get closer toDying Light 2’s launch next month.

It will be interesting to see if more substantialDying Light 2trailers are released between now and launch as well. It’s entirely possible that Techland will show moreDying Light 2gameplay footageto further showcase the game before it’s released to the masses, but nothing to that effect has been announced.

On paper, it certainly seems as thoughDying Light 2is taking everything people liked about the first game and taking it to the next level, but it remains to be seen if it will achieve those goals in practice. Luckily,Dying Light 2fansdon’t have to wait too much longer to find out.
