AnElden Ringfan has pointed out that Golden Seeds resemble a popular confectionary, and the community response is nothing short of hilarious. Similarities betweenElden Ringand other FromSoftware properties have been consistently discovered since release, but there exist more than a few parallels to be drawn with items found in real life.
Golden Seeds are beloved byElden Ringplayers, who are thankful whenever stumbling upon the glowing trees that produce them. As the limited resource with which Tarnished can upgrade the capacity of the Flask of Crimson Tears (and by extension the Flask of Cerulean Tears), any player journeying the Lands Between is highly appreciative when discovering them. Whether someone wants to improve their primary source of health replenishment or be able to cast Comet Azur continuously, the prospect of finding Golden Seeds makes exploration all the more tempting.

An image posted to Reddit by Open_Profit_Close captures the icon associated with Golden Seeds, but the logo for Ferrero Rocher is superimposed in the middle. The chocolate and hazelnut confectionery, produced by the Italian company Ferrero, does not itself bear an uncannyresemblance to a cherishedElden Ring’s resource, but that changes if the golden wrapping has not been removed. When viewed at a distance, a Golden Seed and a Ferrero Rocher ball are rather indistinguishable, a comparison that many have seemingly drawn before.
Comments responded to the caption “I know I’m not the only one” with the traditional memetic attitude that FromSoftware communities have cultivated across years of playing punishing games with depressing narratives. “I am Ferrero, Blade of Nutella” proved a strong start to the playful use of linguistics that was destined to unfold, parodying the infamous phrase from Malenia, Blade of Miquella. Praetor Rykard’s slurred speech was altered to create “togethaaaa we can devouaa the very candy of the gawdssss,” referring to thebeloved line spoken by the Lord of Blasphemy as he transitionsinto his second phase.
Others joked that if Ferrero Rocher were present inElden Ring, players would unwrap them only to discover the chocolate had been replaced with a Shabriri Grape. However, any who haveeither read the item’s description or progressed Hyetta’s questwould know the Grapes are in fact eyeballs, but apparently feel like “a large, overly-ripe grape.” No matter how horrifying that may be, it would certainly be on-brand for FromSoftware to do something of that nature if the terrors that exist within its games are anything to go by.
Elden Ringis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
