Summary
TheHaunted Chocolatieris still in development, and its developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone is notoriously secretive about it. However, he does occasionally tease fans by revealing minorHaunted Chocolatierdetails through social media. While ConcernedApe can sometimes be cryptic with his hints, he has shared several screenshots of his upcoming game.
TheHaunted Chocolatierscreenshots ConcernedApe releases on social mediaare often the most revealing, but at times they raise more new questions than they answer. Regardless, it is always exciting to see what ConcernedApe is working on, even if the game won’t be released for a while.

All Official Screenshots for Haunted Chocolatier
One of the screenshots displays the chocolatier’s storefront. There are other buildings nearby, presumably the homes of NPCs. There are four chimneys visible in the screenshot, two of which have smoke coming out of them. The player character is running along a path that leads to the house that is attached to the chocolate shop. The shop is also accessible from within the house. Other interesting details in the storefront screenshot are the lion-like statues and what could be a fountain, but it is only partially visible. There is another screenshot that displays a fountain with three mermaid statues in it, possibly in the center of the town.
Another screenshot shows the inside of the player’s home. It is large and luxurious compared to some of the other living spaces. A fire is lit in the fireplace, and there is a bar and card table visible behind some couches. Pictures line the ascending staircase. There is a character that appears to be a butler walking past a door under the staircase. A little more of the player’s house can be seen in another screenshot, but the view is mostly blocked by a recipe book. Crafting chocolates is, of course, acentral mechanic inHaunted Chocolatier.
There is a strange statue right in the middle of the scene. It looks bear-like if one glances at it quickly, but it has a bushy tail and stripe details. There is also a plaque on the base of the statue, soit may have some kind of significance inHaunted Chocolatier. The pictures lining the staircase are worth having another look at, too. There are some people pictured in the photo frames, but there is also what looks like a church, a train, and a couple of others that are hard to make out.
A Look InsideHaunted Chocolatier
There are a handful of other interior screenshots. One appears to be a greengrocer with a small living space attached to it. There is also a picture of the chocolate shop, another small living space, a bakery, as well as a smithy. In the smithy screenshot, the player character is talking to an NPC named Burk who is a large bearded fellow.
Some of theHaunted Chocolatierscreenshots feature NPCs, like the aforementioned Burk. There is also the screenshot of an old man who bearsa striking similarity to Grandpa fromStardew Valley. Several other NPCs can be seen scattered throughout the screenshots.
Some Haunted Chocolatier Mechanics
There are also some screenshots of the player character exploring and engaging in combat. One even shows anearly-gameHaunted Chocolatierboss, a giant bee. There is also a screenshot of the player character shooting a monster with a bow and arrow. ConcernedApe has mentioned that the combat draws inspiration fromDiablo 2: Resurrectedwhich he had been playing while coming up withHaunted Chocolatier.
There is also a screenshot of a bus, but it looks like someone is living in it rather than driving it. There is what looks like a vegetable garden on top along with a chair. It doesn’t look like the bus goes anywhere and is in a forested area. It has some colorful decorations adorning the windows. Another screenshot shows a fire watchtower with a meter that displays fire risk.
