Resident Evil Code: Veronicais aResident Evilgame that is well remembered by many fans. So well remembered in fact that animpressiveResident Evil Code: Veronicafan remakeis currently in the works.
The originalResident Evil Code: Veronicawas a Sega Dreamcast title that stuck to what was theResident Evilformula at the time. It had fixed camera angles and a tight environment, plus all the other tropes the series was (and in some cases still is) known for. The fan remake aims to shake up many of these conventions, and players can now experience how it’s doing that.

A demo for theResident Evil Code: Veronicafan remake is now available for players. While there was originally a tweet talking about and offering a download link for the demo, that tweet seems to be unavailable as of this article. Fortunately, the demo is still available on the fan remake’s official website. The demo was taken down and reuploaded due to multiple bugs found and reported when it first dropped. If it proves a hit, the fan remake may getResident Evil Code: Veronicatrending on Twitteragain.
The demo provides a look into what the full remake will offer, and a preview into some of thechanges most wanted forResident Evil Code: Veronica. The remake brings a huge visual update, makingResident Evil Code: Veronicalook a lot like the remakes ofResident Evil 2andResident Evil 3. It also remixes levels, which will hopefully lead to a better pace of the game throughout, making moments like the giant moth hallway less obnoxious. Perhaps most interesting of all, the remake gives the option for two different camera styles:Resident Evil 4style third person (entirely new for the game) or traditional fixed camera angles.
While the fan remake is being worked on, Capcom is still going new directions with the series as a whole. After proving to be a hit with many players,Resident Evil Villageis getting DLC, perhaps with even more down the line.
Away from the mainline games, themultiplayer gameResident Evil Re:Verseis being experienced by players for the first time. TheResident Evilseries really has exploded in recent years from what seemed like a dead end into multiple different interesting directions. Hopefully theResident Evil Code: Veronicaproves to be a hit.
