Ultima in Final Fantasy 6

Ultimais arguablyone of the best spellsavailable in all ofFinal Fantasy 6. Because of this, the game makes it quite difficult for players to acquire it. There are three ways to obtain Ultima, but some of them are much harder than others.

What Does The Ultima Spell Do In Final Fantasy 6?

Ultima is a non-elemental magic spell that, when cast, targets all enemies on the battlefield. It is by farthe most powerful spell available in the game, not only for the damage it can deal but also due to the defensive enemy buffs it ignores.

Ultima willnot be reflected backat the party if it is cast at an enemy with an active Reflect buff. It alsoignores enemy Magic Defense, and its damage will not be lessened if cast on a foe with an activeShellbuff. Casting Ultima requires the caster to spend80 MP, and though this sounds like a lot, equippingthe Celestriad Relicwill allow players to cast it, and all other spells in exchange for only1 MP.

This can take an extremely long time, especially because of the status effects that come with wearing the shield, so players should equip aRibbonto the character using the shield to lessen its negative effects.

To find the Cursed Shield, the player must enter the house in the northwestern corner ofNarshe. Like with the Weapons shop, Locke must first be recruited in the World of Ruin in order to unlock this door.
