Yet more evidence thatGrand Theft Auto 6is in development at Rockstar Studios has been found online. The next iteration of the most popular open-world action game franchise in the world has been rumored for some time, but no official confirmation has been made yet. Yet now a professional actor is publically claiming that they are a part of theGrand Theft Auto 6cast, listing aGrand Theft Auto 6role on their resume.
Jorge Consejo is a popular actor on Mexican television with more than a dozen Spanish language shows in the 2000s. More recently, Consejo starred as Frank inBetty en NY. His resume doesn’t feature any voice acting experience in cartoons or games, soGrand Theft Auto 6will be his first. According to his resume, Consejo’s role inGrand Theft Auto 6will be a new character named “The Mexican.”

Further evidence of Consejo’s role inGrand Theft Auto 6was provided after fans asked him on social media whether his resume was accurate. Consejo, unfamiliar with the secretive nature of voice acting roles, said on Twitter, “Dear friends, While I read every message from you, please know that because of contract stipulations sometimes I’m unable to comment on certain projects.” While Consejo doesn’t explicitly state he’s referring to theGrand Theft Auto 6role, it’s clear that’s what he’s referring to.
One other interesting deal that can be drawn from Consejo’s resume is that his work onGrand Theft Auto 6is listed as from the year 2018. Considering voice acting in video games is typically a late event in game development, a 2018 recording indicates that maybeGrand Theft Auto 6’s release dateis nearer than might be expected.
Regardless of whetherGrand Theft Auto 6is nearing its announcement or even launch, it’s exciting to have what may be the first semi-official information about the game. The Mexican, hero or villain, isGrand Theft Auto 6’s first official character.
As most gamers are familiar with, an NDA like what would be employed forGrand Theft Auto 6wouldn’t allow Consejo to post that he was involved with the project until Rockstar allowed him to. As such, either Consejo is lying about his involvement or he’s unfamiliar with industry NDA practices. Given Consejo’s professional history with so manySpanish language shows, it would be crazy for him to lie. And given his lack of voice acting and video game experience, it seems likely that he’s unfamiliar with industry practices for NDAs. That gives this leak credence but doesn’t prove it true.
Fans will still have to wait until Rockstar is ready to announceGrand Theft Auto 6officially to know if the game’s in development for certain.
