Not only didNightingalejoin the other big games that got revealed aspart of The Game Awards, Flynn made an appearance at the event to talk about and shed a bit more light on the upcoming “shared experience” title.
In this new action-adventure game, players will take on characters that have been stranded in the faery realms. Cut off from their own world by the collapse of the arcane portal network, users will need to keep their characters alive while fighting off hordes of fantastical creatures that are bent on killing the strange visitors to their lands.
Nightingalewon’t be all about slashing and hacking, though. The game will also involve quite a bit of crafting, both of places to live and the weapons and tools that characters will need to survive. When users are constructing their homes, there will be a variety of options they can build and then upgrade in the same sort of way that can beseen in something like Amazon’sNew World. The game will allow for the construction of farms or estates and players can even build entire communities that multiple characters will be able to live off of and survive even better.
This shared-world and open-world experience will allow players to play alone or with a friend to try and live through the challenges of the game. This teaming up could end up being quite important as players will find themselves starting out inNightingalewithout much in the way of resources since they’ve been unexpectedly stranded in these fae realms. Unlike several of the games that wereunveiled at The Game Awards, those interested in this title won’t have to wait long to get their first look at the PC-only title as it will be offering an open beta at some point next year.
