Fortnite, despite being on the cusp of five years old, remains one of the most widely played video games to this day. This is because in addition to its core gameplay,Fortniteis constantly spicing things up through things like new items and in-game limited-time events, with today kicking off the utilization of both.Fortnite’s latest hotfix introduces Ripsaw Launcher Week, encouraging players to take advantage of the new multipurpose weapon.
Epic Games' popular battle royale title is now roughly a month into its Chapter 3 Season 3. The “Vibin'” summer festival-themed seasonfirst introduced the Ripsaw Launcherlast week, although the item has only been available in a single location on the island. However, for the next week, players will have plenty more opportunity to find one.

Running from June 28 to July 5,Fortnite’s Ripsaw Launcher Week will spawn from just about anywhere on the map. In addition to its usual Chop Shop location, players will be able to find Ripsaw Launchers on the ground, in chests, and in Supply Drops. For those who’ve yet to try it out, the Ripsaw Launcher fires circular sawblades, eviscerating builds while also damaging players in its path. Saws can be revved up to increase distance and velocity as well. The one major downside to the weapon is that its ammo can’t be replenished, meaning players should launch wisely.
Fortnite’s Ripsaw Launcher comes exclusively in Rare rarity, and deals 60 damage per hit. It isn’t the only new weapon added from the latest hotfix, although technically it could be considered new-adjacent. The update confirms the rumors ofFortniteadding a firework gun, coming in the form of the Firework Flare Gun. A seasonal version of the standard Flare Gun (akin to the Grenade Launcher’s Egg Launcher and Snowball Launcher variants), the Firework Flare Gun operates similarly to its standard form, except it uses exploding fireworks, giving the weapon a larger area-of-effect.
The Ripsaw Launcher and Firework Flare Gun aren’t the only fancy weapons temporarily available inFortniteright now. Players brave enough to take on Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers canget their hands on someStar Warsweapons, including Vader’s iconic Lightsaber and the popular E-11 Blaster Rifle. While players can sneak up to the randomly landed-upon location to open Imperial Chests for the blasters, defeating the extremely powerful Sith Lord is the only way to attain a Lightsaber.
Fortniteplayers can take advantage of Ripsaw Launcher Week to help them completethe newNarutoNindo Challenges, which, while introducing a new wave of skins of Naruto’s rivals, unfortunately doesn’t bring back the Paper Bomb Kunai.
Fortniteis free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
