A newGenshin Impactleakhas revealed more details about the potential release date of Cloud Retainer. According to the leak, Cloud Retainer could be released during version 4.4 which is still many months away. At the moment, she is known as an NPC who appeared in multiple Archon, Story, and World Quests. This release date makes sense since this Adeptus is heavily tied to the Liyue region and update 4.4 will most likelyhost the Lantern Rite Festivalwhich is always held in the Geo nation. Adepti are known as powerful individuals who serve the Geo Archon Morax who is also known as the Prime Adepti.

A previousGenshin Impactvideo named Echoes of the Hearthas revealed Cloud Retainer’s human form which will probably be used if she ends up becoming a playable character. Fans hope that the character’s kit will allow him to swap between his human and bird form which would be a unique mechanic in Genshin Impact. She would not be the first Adeptus to join the playable roster as both Zhongli and Ganyu belong to this group.

Even though Zhongli is known as the Geo Archon, he also goes by the name Prime of the Adepti. Going by HoYoverse’s usual update, fans can expect version 4.4 to drop around mid-January. The fact that she was not featured in any of the recent Fontaine teasers could mean that the Cloud Retainer won’t make an appearance in the Hydro nation. Her release could be part of thelong-awaited Liyue expansionthat could connect the Geo nation with the recently introduced Fontaine region.

At the moment, there is a large gap of uncovered terrain that separates these two regions. While some fans suggest that it’s covered by water, others claim that it will be one of the most important locations in the game since it’s right belowthe floating island known as Celestia.

Genshin Impactis available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch port also being in development.
