AGenshin Impactplayer recently pointed out a strange quirk with Sumeru’s desert when it comes to one of the game’s most popular characters. The addition ofthe desert region of Sumeruduring Version 3.1 brought with it a variety of unique landscapes unlike any other in the HoYoverse RPG. The desert features sprawling open areas dotted with pyramids throughout, with each holding its own puzzles and challenges to take on. Fans have also noticed plenty of smaller aesthetic details about the desert that set it apart from the rest of Teyvat.
Genshin Impact’s newest region features a minor detail that many fans were quick to pick up on alongside the new gameplay elements and treasure to seek out. Fans found out early that the sands of the Sumeru desert would track the movements of each player’s character, leaving behind a trail in the shape of the character’s steps. The sand also picks up on different movement styles from abilities, like Sayu’s rolling Elemental Skill and skids from characters sliding. However, one fan recently picked up on a strange interaction with Fischl.

A post from Reddit user Batuhan70 pointed out a peculiar lack of footprints left behind byone ofGenshin’s fan-favorite characters Fischl. In the video, the user shares movements from several other members of their party, including Tartaglia and Beidou, to show that the sand was properly registering their movements. However, none of Fischl’s movements or the movements from her attacks would leave any footprints behind. Many fans attributed the oddity to being a bug relating to her Elemental Burst, which sees the player take control of Oz flying above the ground.
Bugs like Fischl’s mysterious missing footprints have become commonplace inGenshinwith many fans finding humorous and sometimes impactful bugs affecting the popular RPG.Nahida’s idle animation was a particular focusfrom fans as players were quick to discover a bug with the Dendro Archon’s animations that allowed her to fly indefinitely. The bug was used for a variety of purposes with some extreme players even using it to reach Inazuma early or travel out-of-bounds within the game.
The unusual interaction with Sumeru’s desert comes asGenshin Impacthas seen plenty of new content and ways to play throughout recent updates. The addition of Sumeru’s rainforests in Version 3.0 and the desert in 3.1 have brought a massive new landscape for players to explore, with the desert heavily rumored to expand further in future patches.Genshin Impact’s most recent Version 3.3 also introducedthe long-awaited Genius Invokation TCGas a permanent card game mode.
