Who is GTA 5’s Graveyard Killer?
The Graveyard Killer is said to be a secret killer that players would encounter at the Vinewood Cemetery in Pacific Bluffs. Recently, clips have popped up on YouTube and TikTok, which showedGTA 5protagonist Michael De Santaentering the cemetery in the middle of the night, and seeing three dead bodies on a bench. The video ends with Michael being attacked by an armed man believed to be the Graveyard Killer. Many said they were terrified of the Graveyard Killer, and pointed out how the videos jump scared them. Some seemed convinced that they would bump into the killer if they went to the cemetery at a certain time. Meanwhile, there were also players who were impressed by the fact thatGTA 5always had something different to offer every time they logged on.
However, these videos have raised questions among manyGTA 5players who were wondering whether the Graveyard Killer was real or not. There were also some who were skeptical about his existence because the YouTube and TikTok videos seemed to use the same clips, and there wasn’t any information about the killer online. If one would look up the Graveyard Killer, most of the results would direct them to theInfinity Killeror the Sunken Body, aka the drowned woman with her feet tied to a cinder block.
Probably the earliest video about the Graveyard Killer was YouTube user The Atom Gamers’Grand Theft Auto 5short film back in 2016. The three-minute video showed a female character exploring the cemetery before being chased by the Graveyard Killer. The next time this “Easter egg” came up was in 2020, which was the video that starred Michael. Despite people’s fascination with the killer, it seemed like he was created with a mod.
This would not be the first time aGTA 5modderwould incorporate something disturbing in the game. For instance, one mod placed the Sunken Body in Vinewood Cemetery, and made her a hostile enemy who would chase and attack the player. Regardless if it was a mod, manyGTA 5players still seemed to treat the Graveyard Killer as a terrifying figure they want to find in Vinewood Cemetery. Others have started treating him like a meme while being vague about whether the killer was created with a mod or not. For now, avidGTA 5players might only experience the Graveyard Killer through mods or creative videos online.
Perhaps Rockstar would add the Graveyard Killer or an actual Easter egg inGTA 6. After all,GTA 5had a habit of addingEaster eggs fromRed Dead Redemptionand previousGTAgames, so it wouldn’t be surprising if something similar would happen.
