Guilty Gear Strivehas been a huge critical and commercial success for Arc System Works, as it has become one of the highest selling games in the franchise.Guilty Gear Striveis seeing plenty of post-launch support as well, with a season pass of DLC adding five more playable characters. The momentum for this game looks like it will be continuing, with Arc System Works announcing a number of updates that are on the way.

All of these updates were announced at ARCREVO 2021, a Fighting Game Tournament hosted by Arc System Works itself. One of these isthe final character being added toGuilty Gear Strive’s Season Pass: the returning Testament. Testament has been a part of the franchise since the first game. This season pass will bring fourmore characters toGuilty Gear Strive’s roster, though no characters or release window have been revealed yet. It will also contain new stages and more music composed by series creator Daisuke Ishiwatari. Alongside this, one of the biggest updates coming to the game will be cross-platform online play on both the Steam and PlayStation versions of the game. Crossplay was something that was discussed by the developers after the launch ofStrive, and it seems like this dream will be a reality soon.

Not stopping there,Guilty Gear Strivewill be receiving its first story expansion, known as “Another Story,” in late April. This story DLC will be focusing on the many characters that didn’t appear in the main story mode. This will most likely feature characters like May, Faust, and Ramlethal. It’s possible that this content will also focus on the DLC characters that were introduced in the Season 1 Pass such as Baiken and Testament.

The final piece of information announced from Arc System Works is a free update known as the “Digital Figure” mode. It’s a mode where players can use any combination ofGuilty Gear Strive’s characters, stages, and more to create a diorama. This includes adjusting the poses, lighting, size, and even expressions of the characters to create their own unique in-game photographs. The amount of additional objects, effects, filters, and more is vast, allowing for a lot of creative pictures. These dioramas can all be shared online for others to view freely.

Guilty Gear Striveis available on PC, PS4, and PS5.
