Halo Infinitewill be the first in the series to launch on PC simultaneously with Xbox. In celebration of this, 343 Industries has teamed up with AMD to create a special limited editionHalo Infinitegraphics card.

To clarify,Halo Infiniteis not the series' first time appearing on PC. Back in the day, the originalHalo: Combat Evolvedreceived an official PC port, and more recently, 343 Industries brought the entirety ofHalo: The Master Chief Collectionto PC, which in hindsight, likely helped the team prepare forHalo Infiniteon PC. Aside fromHalo 5: Guardians, it is possible to play the entirety of theHalosaga on PC, that just a couple of years ago, seemed like something that was never going to happen. In the run up toHalo Infinite, 343 Industries just beganHalo: The Master Chief Collection’s final seasontitledMythic, bringing 100 new tiers of content for players to unlock for free.

In a new Xbox Wire, 343 Industries confirms its partnering with AMD to create a limited editionHalo Infinitegraphics card. For two years 343 Industries and AMD have been working together in developingHalo Infinitefor the PC, and as Noah Benesch, Product Marketing Manager at Xbox, puts it, the two studios “agreed that ushering in the next era ofHaloon PC called for something a little extra.” Enter the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XTHalo InfiniteLimited Edition graphics card, the flagship of AMD’s graphics card offerings and the “fastest gaming graphics card AMD [has] ever developed.” Like thelimited editionHalo InfinitePC gear from Razer, the graphics card takes design influences from Master Chief’s signature green armor with blue highlights to signify Cortana.

Unfortunately, this beautiful graphics card will only be acquired by a small amount of players. The graphics card will not be available for purchase, but, Benesch writes, “AMD,Halo, and other partners will be offering players multiple opportunities over the coming weeks to get their hands on one.” This may be a let down for some but due to ongoing chip and hardware shortages, this graphics card would likely have sold for a small fortune. Likewise, if thelimited editionHalo InfiniteXbox Series X scalpingwas an indication, once the graphics card went on sale, they would likely be turned around for even more outrageous prices.

Seeing 343 Industries give so much consideration toHalo’s PC community is still a surreal sight after so many years of it seeming so far out of reach. Within roughly two years time,Haloon PC went from being an afterthought to, as 343 Industries' partnership with AMD indicates, a primary developmental target right beside the Xbox consoles. Between PC, console, and xCloud, there are now more ways to playHalothan ever before and that is great not just for fans of the series but for gaming in general. Even ifHalo 5: Guardiansnever comes to PC, having the rest of the series is amazing nonetheless.
