The post on Reddit made by user CyrilHul features a clip from theHalo 5: Guardiansreveal, in which Master Chief wears a poncho. Importantly, the poncho was never actually featured in the full game, making its purpose one of the bigquestionsHalogames have yet to answer. However, CyrilHul makes the call for it to return inHalo Infiniteas a customization option, and others in the thread fully agreed. One user claimed the poncho “could have great potential for drip,” while another pointed out the potential problems it could bring, stating, “Cloth physics will explode every xbox.”
Although the poncho was just a tiny part ofHalo 5: Guardians' pre-release campaign, its disappearance from the full game was indicative of the problem with the marketing as a whole. Many in the community felt that theHalo 5: Guardiansthey received was very different from the game they were sold in the marketing campaign, which led to plenty of disappointment. In the years since, 343 Industries has worked hard to win back player trust, and finally bringing the poncho intoHalo Infinitewould be a cool way to continue that trend.
WhileHalo Infiniteis still receiving frequent updates, it remains to be seen what comes next for the series. When looking atwhat to expect from theHalofranchise in 2024, a new game doesn’t seem to be on the immediate horizon, although anything is possible. If nothing else, more content forHalo Infinitemay have to suffice for the foreseeable future, at least on the gaming front, with Season 2 of theHaloTV series also set for a debut this year.
