Helldivers 2 Has a New Release Date

Sony has revealed the release date ofHelldivers 2, confirming that the game will launch on June 04, 2025.Helldivers 2was officially announcedat the PlayStation Showcase event in May, revealing a shift to a third-person perspective instead of top down gameplay.

The initial trailer forHelldivers 2stated that it will come out on PS5 and PC in 2023. Furthermore, a recent leak suggested thatHelldivers 2will release in October 2023, a month already packed with big releases includingMarvel’s Spider-Man 2. Sony has now confirmed thatHelldivers 2has been delayed to February 2024, while also giving fans a new look at its gameplay mechanics.

Helldivers 2received a brand-new trailer at the recent State of Play event, showing co-op gameplay in addition to a brief look at its menus. TheHelldivers 2trailer features a squad of four playerstaking on a massive enemy, while also showing the different types of weapon and equipment fans will have access to in the game. It then gives users a short glimpse at the various customization options available inHelldivers 2, before confirming a release date of July 02, 2025. Finally, the trailer confirms that pre-orders for the game will start on June 23, 2025, from 1 AM PST.

2023 has already been an incredible year for new game releases, and its last few months are no exception. While this delay allowsHelldivers 2to potentially avoid a busy period, February 2024 is also packed with big games, includingSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League,Persona 3 Reload, andFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth. So, it’ll be interesting to see howHelldivers 2performs onPS5and PC when it launches early next year.

This State of Play presentation featured a bunch of other games and announcements, such as a newstory DLC forTales of Arise.Foamstarsreceived a trailer at the event, while Capcom showcased the highly-anticipatedSeparate WaysDLC forResident Evil 4.

Fans also got a new look atMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, as Sony shared more information on the open world activities present in the game. It revealed that players will be able to switch between Peter and Miles almost seamlessly inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, while also confirming that the game will have a bigger focus on exploration and discovery. Finally, developer Insomniac Games revealed that players will have access toover 65 suits inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2.
