Meanwhile, players like Reddit user AnakinSkywalker76 design their avatars based on memorable characters fromElden Ring’sstory. AnakinSkywalker76 uploaded a short video on the social media platform showing their player character fromElden Ring, who looks exactly like Patches. Moreover, the video is essentially a recreation of a famous scene from the Patches quest line where he tricks the player and kicks them off a cliff. Similar to the iconic scene, shiny objects can be seen near a cliff to lure others. Surprisingly, another player named Recusant Yokino fell for this trap and approached the bright things, upon which the original poster attacked them. The Recusant immediately plunged to their death in an almost perfect recreation of the scene from the game.

Naturally, the post received widespread acclaim from the Reddit community, as shown by over 3,500 upvotes and numerous comments. Most users suggested that the Recusant willingly played along with AnakinSkywalker76’s ruse for the sake of the scene, despite knowing it would result in their death. Meanwhile, one user named jayp1ay69 pointed out that the original poster should’ve usedElden Ring’sKick Ash of Warinstead of the regular attack to make it even more relatable.

InElden Ring, Patches functions as a merchant, NPC, and an optional boss. Patches is a recurrent character in FromSoftware games who plays the role of a betrayer or deceiver. InElden Ring, players first encounter him as a boss in Murkwater Cave after stealing the contents of a chest. During this fight, when Patches' health is low, he will offer to give up. If players accept his surrender, he appears as a merchant in Murkwater Cave, where he sells useful items like Margit’s Shackle. In addition, he can be summoned as an NPC tofight Starscourge Radahn inElden Ring.

Elden Ringis available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
