Summary
AnElden Ringplayer has discovered a neat way to sneak up on enemies and play the game as if they are Solid Snake from theMetal Gear Solidseries.Elden Ring’s stealth systemallows players to creep up behind enemies and assassinate them without issues. Distracting enemies with different spells makes it easier to crouch away from them and potentially avoid dying. However, taking a stealthy approach against some creatures can be fairly difficult, as they can spot players if they’re not crouched from a distance.
TheMetal Gear Solidseries created by Hideo Kojimahas carved out a reputation for its robust stealth mechanics that allow players to lurk around interior rooms and inside enemy bases. Players have access to a number of non-lethal techniques to bait out enemies and stay out of sight, including the ability to knock out them and wear camouflage. Those who don’t want to take a stealthy approach can also use assault rifles, rocket launchers, and submachine guns to take out as many enemies as possible.

In a video submitted to the game’s Reddit page, a mischievous player by the name of JackNewbie555 showed how to use the stealth mechanics to hide fromElden Ring’s Moongrum Carian Knightand kill him with ease. The player takes advantage of the environment to sneak through their enemy and distracts him with arrow shots until he ends up next to the elevator shaft. They approach Carian Knight from behind to kick him a couple of times, and he dies instantly after falling down in the elevator cage. It looks like the player puts the focus on stealth and takes some hints from Solid Snake to assassinate enemies.
ManyElden Ringfans have taken notice of the post, with some claiming that they now want to start theMetal Gear Solidseries again. Some also advised the player to use the Veil Talisman, which makes them invisible as long as they’re far away enough from enemies. This special item is obtained upon defeating the Black Knife Assassin encountered in the Sage’s Cave.
The stealth build, which focuses on dumping stats into vigor and dexterity, is a viable option to beatElden Ringconsidering almost every environment in the game has bushes and shadows. It allows players to sneak past formidable enemies and perform a Backstab for massive damage. There are a number of overpowered builds players can try out while digging into The Lands Between, with one allowing them to demolishElden Ring’s Sir Gideon Ofnirin 10 seconds. It’s hard to imagine what additional build ideas they will invent in the future.
Elden Ringis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
