Hogwarts Legacyplaces players in the shoes of a young fifth-year student during their first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. While most of the game’s opening tasks the protagonist with attending classes and learning new spells, there is also a great deal to experience outside the castle’s walls.

Hogwarts Legacyis chock-full of unique and engaging side quests that require players to venture out into the vast wizarding world at the request of various witches and wizards. One quest, however, sees the protagonist adhering to the requests of a sentient well and setting off to uncover a particularly well-hidden treasure.
How To Begin The Well, Well, Well Side Quest In Hogwarts Legacy
To find the well that offers the Well, Well, Well side quest,players should fast-travelto the Floo Flame at Aranshire and travel southwest until they see the well situated atop a nearby hill. This area is covered in forestry, so the player should cast Revelio while flying on a broom if they are struggling to locate it.
Once the well has been found, all the player needs to do to initiate the quest is interact with it. After a brief conversation with the sentient well, the protagonist will obtainThe Well’s Treasure Map, a fascinating piece of parchment that depicts the location of a hidden treasure.

According to this map, the treasure can be found near a tree by some ruins, but sinceHogwarts Legacyis full of ruins like the one in the drawing, players will likely struggle in locating the location referenced by the map.
The Well, Well, Well Treasure Location In Hogwarts Legacy
To find the ruins depicted on The Well’s Treasure Map, the player shouldmount their broomand fly southwest until they reachIrondale. From there, they should continue flying southwest over the giant crevasse until they find the ruins. Before landing, a quick cast of Revelio will reveal the exact location of the tree depicted on the map, so players needn’t explore the area too much if they only want to uncover the treasure.
Once the tree has been located, the player should land next to it and equip Levioso to their spell diamond. Next, they shouldcast Levioso on the tree, which will cause it to rise and reveal a hidden chest in its roots. Inside the chest lies theTreasure-Seeker’s Bicorne Hatand400 Galleons. Once the chest has been opened, a prompt will appear, marking the end of the Well, Well, Well side quest.
Before leaving this area, the player should take the time to land on theLanding Platformjust north of the ruin if they have yet to do so, as landing on said platform will contribute to the Landing Platform Challenge requirements.
Hogwarts Legacyis available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One versions will release on April 4 and a Switch version will release on July 25.
