Summary
AsHogwarts Legacyallows players to create their own character who will then choose or be assigned a house, each playthrough can be vastly different. One of the many benefits of being sorted into Ravenclaw, the house of wit, learning, and wisdom, is that players can call the fanciest and most refined common room their new home.
The Ravenclaw Common Room, situated in Ravenclaw Tower, is awash with white marble and draped in blue and gold decor. With plenty of desks, bookcases, and an all-around intellectual vibe, it is the perfect place to study for one’s O.W.L.s. Nevertheless, Ravenclaws who are too focused on their studies might not have noticed the secrets their common room holds.
Updated on July 12, 2025, by Joe Grantham:Hogwarts Legacy is a massive open-world game with hundreds of secrets and small details that have been lovingly planted by the developers. Even the Ravenclaw Common Room, which makes up the tiniest of fractions of the illustrious wizarding school, cannot have all of its secrets revealed at once. This is especially true of seasonal decorations as well as random interactions, which may only occur once or twice in an entire playthrough. With the game finally releasing on the Nintendo Switch and plenty of people receiving the game for Christmas, a new wave of want-to-be wizards and witches are just settling into their new home in Ravenclaw Tower, and they may encounter some interesting secrets during their stay.
15A Painting Of The Hogwarts Express
Found Halfway Down The Dormitory Stairs
The developershave done a great job of decorating Hogwarts with hundreds, if not thousands, of paintings, and one of the most beautiful is hidden within the Ravenclaw Common Room. This painting of the Hogwarts Express crossing a gorgeous bridge in the countryside is found halfway down the dormitory stairs, and if players don’t look up on their way to the bathroom, they will miss it.
Although it doesn’t move like other magical paintings, the landscape art offers more than enough to captivate the beholder. As Ravenclaws are known for their creativity, perhaps this painting was created by a former student who had fond memories of traversing the British countryside on the Hogwarts Express.
14A Gobstones Board
Found On The Top Floor
Gobstones is a wizarding game that is mentioned in theHarry Potterbooks, and one side mission inHogwarts Legacy, Gobs of Gobstones, also has players try to find individual gobstones that have been hidden around the castle.
If players want to see what board this game is played on, then they will find a Gobstones board on the top floor of the Ravenclaw Common Room. There is also a chessboard on the top floor, meaning Ravenclaws would have a few ways to pass the time once they finished their studies.
13Quidditch Posters
Found On The Notice Board & Next To The Beds
Throughout the game, players will notice many Quidditch posters plastered on the walls, and the Ravenclaw Common Room is no different. They can be found on the noticeboard and on the walls next to certain beds inside the dormitories.
These posters depictstudents' favorite Quidditch teamsfrom the British and Irish Quidditch League, including the Chudley Cannons and Appleby Arrows.
12Locked Loot Chests
Found On The Top Floor & The Bottom Floor
Inside the Ravenclaw Common Room, there are two locked chests that players must use Alohomora on to open. However, as Alohomora is only unlocked later in the game and players don’t have many reasons to come back to the common room, they might forget about them.
These two chests contain random gear that could be components of thebest outfits inHogwarts Legacyif players get lucky. One chest is found at the bottom of the dormitory stairs next to the bathroom, and the other is located on the top floor near the chessboard.
11The Ghost Of Helena Ravenclaw
Normally Found Roaming The Main Floor
There are manyghosts to be found inHogwarts Legacy, from the nameless spirits playing catch with their heads in the Hogsmeade graveyard and those dancing in the Deathday Party Room to the ghostly characters who play a part in the main story or side quests.
Ravenclaw’s house ghost, the Grey Lady, who was once known as Helena Ravenclaw, doesn’t have any of her own voice lines, but she can be found serenely gliding through the Ravenclaw Common Room. Fans of theHarry Potterbooks and films will know that Helena Ravenclaw is the daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw, and she has arguably one of the most interesting and tragic backstories out of all the ghosts. She also helps a charming young Tom Riddle, and subsequently, Harry himself, to find her mother’s lost diadem.
10A Late Night Study Session
A Random Interaction Triggered At Night On Rare Occasions
Ravenclaws are known for their studious nature, but some members of the house appear to be more dedicated to their studies than others. There is a random interaction that only triggers at night, where players will happen upon a student studying late at night on the floor of the Ravenclaw Common Room.
The scene is rather cozy, with the student comfortably lying down with their books, a light, and their magical necessities spread out around them. Whether they are squeezing in some extracurricular studies or catching up on overdue homework is unclear, but it is hard to argue that rare interactions like this make the game feel more alive.
9A Christmas Tree At Christmas
Is Only Put Up Halfway Through The Winter Season
One of the best things aboutHogwarts Legacyis how, as the school year progresses and players make their way through the story, the seasons change. The pleasure of seeing the Scottish Highlands draped in Autumn hues or blanketed with snow is only matched by the changes inside Hogwarts itself.
For example, as winter goes on, players will see more and more Christmas decorations all over the castle, and those who happen to return to the Ravenclaw Common Room at this festive time will see Ravenclaw’s very own Christmas tree.
8The Bathroom
Found At The Bottom Of The Dormitory Stairs
By heading down the stairs from their dormitory room, Ravenclaw students will find their bathroom, which has everything they could ever need to keep themselves spick and span during their time at Hogwarts.
On the right-hand side, there is a range of bathtubs perfect for cleaning up after an adventure inthe Forbidden Forest, and thankfully, each cubicle has a curtain for privacy, too. In the middle are sinks that players can interact with to make the taps run. The toilets inside the cubicles on the left-hand side can also be flushed, allowing for an extra level of immersion.
7Rowena Ravenclaw’s Diadem
Found On The Main Floor
In the lastHarry Potterbook, Rowena Ravenclaw’s diadem plays an integral part in the plot, and Harry actually goes to the Ravenclaw Common Room to look at the statue of this particular Hogwarts founder.
This statue has been perfectly recreated inHogwarts Legacy, allowing players to see exactly what Harry will go on to see over a century later. The depiction of the diadem sits proudly on Rowena Ravenclaw’s head in elegant white marble, looking out across the entire common room.
6The Trophy Cabinet
One of the things that Ravenclaws can see in their common room is the house trophy cabinet. Although the details can’t be made out on the plaques and trophies, it is easy to imagine Ravenclaw having amassed a wide array of Quidditch trophies and House Cups, among other awards.
Proudly on display in a place where Ravenclaws walk past multiple times a day, it is likely that this trophy cabinet serves as a source of inspiration, motivating members of the house.
