To obtain these planar ornaments, players must confront Yanqing in his enemy form within World 8. Although players may have encountered Yanqing in this form during the Trailblazer quests and the Forgotten Hall, his abilities present unique challenges in this encounter.
Fortunately, Yanqing is not as formidable as some other end bosses, such asAbundant Ebon Deer, andHonkai: Star Railplayers have greater flexibility in defeating him, whether they are free-to-play or not. Simulated Universe World 8 In Honkai: Star Rail
Unlike previous elite enemies that vary and randomize, the end boss of World 8 is Yanqing. In this form, Yanqing comes with three distinct phases. Similar to his other enemy versions, he summons swords, a feature prevalent in phases 2 and 3. Here are some important aspects to pay attention to regarding his and his summons' attacks:

Best Characters and Paths for Simulated Universe World 8 In Honkai: Star Rail
As Yanqing and his swords are weak to Imaginary, Lightning, or Wind elements, utilizing characters from these elements is generally recommended to defeat Yanqing more easily. Additionally, to deal AoE damage and quickly eliminate as many swords as possible while damaging Yanqing, players areadvised to focus on Destructionand Erudition characters specifically. The best path will depend on the DPS character utilized and the synergy with the path. Generally, Propagation, Nihility, or Elation paths work well, but players can also use the Rememberance path for a defensive playstyle, particularly withcertain Ice characters.
To unlock all character-based hidden achievements against Yanqing, players will need todeal a final blow with the characters Sushang, Luocha, Jing Yuan, Dan Heng, Yanqing, and Jingliu.
Best DPS Carry Characters Against Yanqing
While there are a large set of characters players can utilize, these options will work exponentially great against Yanqing:
Kafka
Nihility
Kafka is exceptionally effective when it comes to DoT, as it is the main focus of her kit. In this case, she can make great use of the Nihility path to increase her own attack and consistently apply additional damage over time effects like Bleed, Shock and Wind Sheer. The Nihility path allows her to apply different status effects to enemies with various elements, which can significantly help Kafka with breaking the toughness of the swords or defeating them. Her own status applications and the Lightning element are also useful against Yanqing and the swords.
Dan Heng - Imbibitor Lunae
Propagation
Dan Heng with the Propagation path is one of the strongest combinations overall, as his entire kit revolves around utilizing a large number of skill points to deal massive basic attack damage in an AoE manner. Propagation blessings that allow him to inflict Spores on enemies and increase the benefits of these Spores are particularly useful. This means that Imbibitor Lunae can deal significant Imaginary damage each turn, while also dealing substantial wind damage by applying spores to all enemies. With a well-built Imbibitor Lunae and favorable blessings, players can overcome Yanqing fairly easily, completing each phase within a few turns without much difficulty.
Jing Yuan
Elation
As the Propagation path works excellently for Imbibitor Lunae, the Elation path is equally effective for Jing Yuan, significantly increasinghis follow-up damage. Additionally, the Elation path resonance deals random Elemental damage when used, providing substantial help in quickly dealing with the swords. If players have access to characters like Topaz, his follow-up damage can be increased even further, though it is not necessary. The key consideration is to ensure that Jing Yuan is not frequently frozen, as this would significantly impact the efficiency of his follow-up DMG through Lightning Lord. Players should be paying attention to Elation blessings, which particularly include Aftertaste.
Blade
Similar to Imbibitor Lunae, Blade also benefits greatly from utilizing his Basic Attacks. Consequently, the Propagation path and applying spores work great with him as well. Alternatively, Blade can also make good use of the Destruction path if players haven’t unlocked Propagation or would like to test out different options.
Jingliu
Remembrance
While Yanqing on his own has resistance against Ice, with the Remembrance path, this resistance can be negated, especially if players are interested in utilizing Jingliu against him. With the Remembrance path, players will be able to take both a defensive and offensive approach against Yanqing and his sword formations, as they will be able to get frozen often, delaying their actions until they can launch strong attacks. It’s alsorecommended that alongside Jingliu, players use March 7th to make the best out of this path with her follow-up attacks and Ultimate, which can come in quite handy.
Yukong
Natasha
The best F2P team against Yanqing consists of Dan Heng, Serval, Yukong, and Natasha. With this team composition, it is recommended that players focus on the Nihility path, as Serval can highly benefit from this while dealing AoE damage. Dan Heng doesnot benefit from Nihilitypath as much, he will be able to benefit well from his own abilities, which include Wind RES penetration, or slowing the enemies, primarily to deal damage to Yanqing. If Dan Heng defeats a sword while using his Ultimate, this can also allow him to attack again, which can also come in handy for handling multiple swords in the same turn. Additionally, Yukong’s skill allows for two characters following her to be buffed. Both of them can benefit from her utility whenever possible, combined with Natasha’s healing skills.
It is worth noting that the F2P team might struggle against Yanqing if these characters are not well-invested, or if players haven’t been as lucky with obtaining the core blessings. However, with the ability tree getting an update to be able to utilize consumables within the Simulated Universe, players might want to pay attention to utilizing some buffing consumables before the Yanqing fight if necessary.
