Following what sounded like a terrifying and downright painful accident,Hawkeyestar Jeremy Renner gave a brief but comforting update to his fans everywhere regarding his personal health.
Aftersuffering serious injuries because of a snowplow accidentthat occurred over New Years, Renner took the time to thank everyone for their love and support. Since his injuries are still pretty fresh, Renner’s message to his fans was pretty brief, but it was vital enough to show that he is well enough to send a message.

In his latestInstagramupdate, Renner posted a selfie of himself on a hospital bed with the caption, “Thank you all for your kind words. 🙏. I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.” The picture itself only got Renner from the neck up, where it looks as though his face has got quite a few bruises and gashes due to the accident. Not only that, but it appears Renner has a breathing tube and what may appear to be some sort of cast on his torso, which makes sense given that among the injuries Renner suffered was, in fact, chest trauma. The number of severe injuries Renner reportedly suffered would explain why his update was brief.
All that is known is that Renner suffered chest trauma along with multiple orthopedic injuries, but there haven’t been a lot of specifics. It has also been revealed that Renner’s legs are injured, although more details are sure to be revealed in due time. Renner’s injuries have come about as the next season ofMayor of Kingstown, which he stars in, will be coming out to watch in the next few weeks. There haven’t been any details regarding how long it will take for Renner to recover, but with what he’s been through over the past few days, it’s safe to say he can take all the time he needs.
Unless his current projects decide to move along without him, Renner’s injuries will probably lead to delays for his upcoming shows and movies. They could definitely work around his recovery, and maybe even give his character an arc where he has to do what he does while recovering from serious injuries. No matter what direction they decide to go infrom here, it’s safe to say that Renner deserves to have the benefit of the doubt with the length of his recovery time.
Given that Marvel is focusing on establishing so many new projects, there probably isn’t a rush to haveHawkeyeseason 2 just yet, and even if there is,Hailee Steinfeld can take the mantlewithout any issue since she proved how capable she was playing the new iteration. Since many of the other Marvel actors have since retired from their roles or don’t appear to be in the immediate plans, maybe it’s time for Renner to do the same. No one would blame him, and he has a good excuse.
