Though we have no idea what this date is or what author Gege Akutami is cooking up for the ending, there is always speculation that comes with analyzingthe current direction that the story is going in. The Fate of the Heroes

Jujutsu Kaisenis no stranger to devastating its fans by killing off beloved characters, so, the ending of the series will likely be filled to the brim with the deaths of many of the heroes. Back at Jump Festa in 2020, Gege Akutami revealed that out of Gojo andthe first year students at Jujutsu High, either one of them will die or all of them except for one will die. Judging by where the story is at right now, it can be inferred which ending he went for.

Out of all of these characters that he spoke about,Gojo is the only one who is definitively dead, as was seen after his battle with Sukuna and his visit to the afterlife. Nobara’s and Megumi’s fates, however, are still left ambiguous. At this point in the story, Nobara has not been seen for over 100 chapters after she got transfigured by Mahito in the Shibuya Incident.

This led to a part of her face gettingblown off and what seemed like her death, though we eventually got news from Arata Nitta that she was still alive and needed treatment. Despite this, after Yuji woke up in the Culling Game, Megumi implied that she had died. However, the reason that fans think she is still alive as she wasnowhere to be seen in Gojo’s afterlife scene, which was filled with all the people that he cared about who had died, leaving some cause to hope.

Megumi’s case is even more confusing. After being at the lowest point he has ever been in,Megumi was eventually possessed by Sukunaduring the Culling Game. As seen with Yuji, Sukuna’s host is tied to Sukuna himself, so he is kept alive by the King of Curses and this was even seen when Sukuna kept Mahoraga’s wheel on Megumi’s soul in his fight against Gojo. However, in the latest chapters of the manga,Sukuna finally transformed into his Heian-era form, wiping out any traces of Megumi that his body once had. While not stated or shown to have died, many believe that Megumi met his end during the transformation.

As for the other sorcerers, there still exists a great chance for the heroes to come out on top. Yuji himself seems to havegotten a power-up by unlocking the monster arm, possibly leaning more and more into his connection with Sukuna and how he will be the one to defeat him. It was stated very early on in the series that Yuji’s body would eventually adapt to Sukuna and his techniques, making for an epic last battle against the King himself.

This, along with the unbridled power and potential of Hakari, Yuta and Maki, makes foran incredible team of super-powerful sorcerers. At the end of the series, most of these characters may die. However, in doing so, they will take out the villains with their vast amounts of cursed energy and overall strength!

Sukuna True Form

The Fate of the Villains

Any story is only as good as its villain, andJujutsu Kaisenmasters the art of making a compelling villain with Sukuna. Despite being a bloodthirsty monster that is only out for his own pleasure, Sukuna is one of the most engaging and likable characters in the entire series and even though he commits acts of great evil and depravity, he is still a fan favorite that marks the beginning of the series andthe pinnacle of strength in the Jujutsu world.

Ever since he possessed Yuji in the first chapter of the manga, it has been clear that the one to eventually take him down is going to be Yuji as the characters have a perfect dichotomy of goals and ideals with their shared history. Sukuna had possessed Yuji for so long that it was hinted that Yuji’s body would eventuallyadapt to and absorb Sukuna’s Cursed Techniqueand in doing so, would be able to fight the King of Curses on even footing.

Their climactic battle would pit them against one another, with each having the upper hand at different points of the fight, but could eventually end with Yujiusing Sukuna’s own technique to defeat him. Moreover, we were also shown in Chapter 222 of the manga that Yuji somehow gained the ability to swap souls/bodies with Kusakabe in a sparring match. This ability could lead to Yuji swapping his soul with Megumi’s, once again housing Sukuna and fighting his soul within himself. He could then throw Megumi into the battle as hecould now freely summon Mahoragawhile in Yuji’s body to help against Sukuna as well.

Yuji and Megumi teaming up to bring down the evil being who took everything from them would be a great send-off for Sukuna. However, another send-off for him could bewith whatever Kenjaku has been planning. We know that Kenjaku has been plotting for centuries to give birth to a massively powerful Cursed Spirit by sacrificing all the people and the Cursed Energy of Japan. Perhaps he could achieve this by getting the cursed energy of the strongest curse user of all time, Sukuna himself.

Doing this would be an incredible twist in the story that would not only give an end to Sukuna in a way that doesn’t feel contrived, but also bringKenjaku back into the storyin a way that’s perfectly in line with his character. This Cursed Spirit and Kenjaku could both be the final enemies that the heroes would have to take down, leading to an incredible final fight to save everything. And who knows? Maybe Sukuna could help out as well!
