WithJurassic World: Dominionon the horizon, there have been some questions as to what the next step in the franchise might be. To that end, there have been some people who wondered whether there might be a live-actionJurassic Worldtelevision show on the horizon, but that appears to not be in the cards at this point.

With several movies already out and another one on the way, it seems as if the people behind theJurassic ParkandJurassic Worldfilms might be looking for other ways to get their properties in front of eyeballs. The series has already moved to streaming devices and TV with the animated showJurassic World Camp Cretaceous.

So could there be a chance that instead of feature films, the next step is to put together a live-action series? Two producers recently spilled the beans on that scenario. In a new interview with /Film,Jurassic World: Dominionproducers Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy made it clear that as of now, there haven’t been any discussions about bringingtheJurassic Worldstoriesto the small screen. Marshall said that his focus right now is only on the movie versions of the story and that likely won’t change anytime soon.

Marshall did also mention that he’sstill working onJurassic World: Cramp Cretaceousfor Netflix, but he added that he thinks “that’s plenty” for now. Of course, it should be pointed out that these kinds of franchises can always change course if another producer or executive decides that the money would be too good to ignore. However, it appears the powers that be are content to keep the franchise to the big screen for the time being.

There have been other plans for theJurassic WorldandJurassic Parkfranchise before now, including a couple of different series that were planned but eventually fell by the wayside.Escape from Jurassic Parkwas the first animated spinoff planned from the originalJurassic Parkmovie whileJurassic Park: Chaos Effectalso hit the planning stages but never went any further.

Marshall has seen his movies spawn television spinoffs before, so it wasn’t out of the question to think that a live-actionJurassic Worldshow might eventually be developed. HisJason Bournefranchise was eventually spun off intoTreadstone, though that show lasted only one season before it was canceled. He was also the producer for the originalPurgemovie that eventually spawned a television series by the same name. Despite those attempts to take popular movies and bring them to the small screen, it appears the producer has no interest in doing that with theJurassic Parkseries.

Jurassic World: Dominionis scheduled to be released in theaters on Jul 19, 2025.
