Summary

A new handheld by the name of theLenovo Legion GOhas been officially revealed to the public. This comes shortly afterthe Lenovo device was initially leaked to the public.

Lenovo is one of the larger competitors in the computer industry, with its offshoot, Lenovo Legion, being a popular brand of smartphones, laptops, and desktops specifically catered to hardcore gaming. Boasting high-end specs and a sleek, moody aesthetic that unifies all of its hardware, this popularity is very understandable. And it seems Lenovo Legion isn’t done innovating yet, with its latest invention, the GO, being its first Windows handheld game streaming device and the latest in a sea of several similar handhelds. And as a bonus, the tech giant is even releasing some new accessories alongside it.

Much likethe Steam Deck before it, the Lenovo Legion GO allows players to run games from their PC library on the go with the goal being to compromise the games' performance as little as possible. Unlike its popular competitor, however, this device includes detachable mini controllers on its sides, not unlike the Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Cons, albeit with a sturdier, slip-proof design and buttons that are mappable from the get-go. The Legion GO includes an 8.8-inch PureSight Gaming Display to maximize screen real estate, alongside top-of-the-line Z1 chips for an “unbeatable” performance and a 49.2 capacity battery that can recharge up to 70% in just thirty minutes. This impressive package is expected to launch in November and sell for $699 at select retailers in addition to the Lenovo Store.

The Lenovo Legion GO could have just let players stream their favoriteWindowsgames on the go and stopped there, but this device is also planned to include some nifty accessories. The Lenovo Legion Glasses, due out in October for $537.97, might resemble a typical pair of shades, but their ebony lenses actually contain micro OLED screens, allowing for a more immersive and less compromised experience during portable gaming sessions. Meanwhile, the Lenovo Legion E510 7.1 RGB Gaming In-Ear Headphones are set to also release in October for $53.89, and distinguish themselves from other quality earbuds with their immersive surround sound and easily adjustable nature.

Given the Nintendo Switch’s runaway success, it’s only natural that others might want to utilize a similar portability model for console-quality games. The Steam Deck and several similar devices have come out, allowing players to do this with PC games, andeven PlayStation has thrown its hat into the ring. Only time will tell whether Lenovo’s latest invention, especially given its pricing, will give the alternatives a run for their money, and whether this portability trend will become a mainstay in the gaming industry for more than a generation.

TheLenovo Legion GOis expected to launch in November 2023.
