Lies of Pis an upcoming soulslike game that has beencompared toBloodborne. At the center of the story is Pinocchio, a puppet created by Geppetto. Pinocchio was in a deep slumber before being awakened by a voice. He wakes up inside a train and sets out to explore the city of Krat.
As players walk through Krat, they will come across many different kinds of monsters, most of them resembling puppets. They help to giveLies of Pan eerie vibe, which iscommon in soulslike games. On their journey across the city of Krat, players will come across many items that will prove to be invaluable. Monad’s Lamp is one of the first things that they will find as they start a new game.

Monad’s Lamp, as the name suggests, is a lamp that can be used to illuminate dark places. There are many such places inLies of P, and wandering in there without Monad’s Lamp is definitely not a good idea. There are enemies lurking around, and without the lamp, it is impossible to see them. Players will encounter the first dark place inside Krat Station. This room has two enemies: a puppet with a gun and a butler puppet.
Upon entering, the puppet with the gun will immediately fire, and without the lamp, it will not be possible to discern the direction of the bullets. If players attempt to roam, the other puppet will start attacking, making an already tough job even more complicated.
Monad’s Lamp can be found on the train at the very beginning of the game. After Pinocchio comes to his senses, players need to head straight forward. They will encounter an area with tables and chairs. On the right side is a long table that has bottles of wine, and toward the end is the lamp. After approaching the lamp, an option to investigate will pop up. Upon pressing the X button, players will receive Monad’s Lamp.
The game describes it as follows: “Do not be afraid even if you get lost in the fog. The cricket guide will be with you.”
Judging from the description, it is possible that Monad’s Lamp might serve other purposes once the full version comes out. It could help players navigate their way around Krat and find their next destination. This will be a welcome addition, asin the demo, players have no such means.
