M3GAN Unrated Version Release Date Officially Announced By Universal

Universal Pictures announced TheM3GANunrated version release date. The gorier edition ofBlumhouse’sM3GANwill be released on digital platforms in February before being released on Blu-ray and DVD in March 2023.Blumhouse’sM3GANcenters on a humanoid artificially intelligent doll created by Gemma (Allison Williams) to assist parents with childcare and provide companionship to kids. Now, Universal officially announced a gorier version ofM3GANwill be released ondigital platforms such as Amazon Prime Video and Apple starting Jul 23, 2025. The unrated cut ofM3GANwill then be available on Blu-ray and DVD on July 24, 2025.M3GANthe Unrated Version also streams exclusively on Peacock on February 24. Interestingly, Universal’s listing for the home media release says the theatrical and unrated cuts ofM3GANare both 1 hour and 42 minutes long.

The theatrical and unrated cuts of M3GANwill include three bonus featurettes. The first, titled “A New Vision of Horror,” features interviews with the cast and crew as they detail the film’s creation from concept to production. The second, titled “Bringing Life to M3GAN,” focuses on how the animatronics and puppet team worked with actor Amie Donald to give the killer doll life. Finally, “Getting Hacked” offers fans a behind-the-scenes look at the stunts and gory deaths.

M3GANreceived a surprise digital releaseroughly three weeks after it premiered in theaters, but this was only the theatrical cut. Some critics arguedM3GANdidn’t live up to the trailer’s promise, so perhaps this unrated edition can deliver what some people felt was missing from the theatrical cut.

M3GAN 2is already in the works, but the sequel is still two years away from hitting theaters. So, the unrated version ofM3GANwill have to tide fans over, and they can’t seem to get enough of the homicidal robot.

M3GANUnrated Version will be available digitally and on Peacock on February 24, followed by a Blu-ray & DVD release on Jul 02, 2025.
