Last week,Mass Effect Legendary Edition,a remastered compilation of the first three games in the series plus all single-player DLC, released to a very positive reception. The game even knocked the highly successfulResident Evil: Villagefrom thetop spot in the UK’s sales charts, and this success has gotten the attention of cosplayers.
UnlikeMass Effect Andromeda,which experienced a lackluster launchand corresponding review scores,Mass Effect Legendary Editionhas generally received high praise, at least from critics. A glance at Metacritic’s user scores for the game might make those assessments seem questionable, but a closer look will reveal that many of the negative user ratings concern specific localization issues and not the quality of the remasters themselves.

In fact,Mass Effect Legendary Editionhas proven to be ahuge success for BioWare, becoming a Steam Top Seller and hitting a record of nearly 60,000 concurrent players shortly after launch. And fans of the series have been showing their enthusiasm for the franchise by pulling together some impressive cosplay.
In celebration of the launch ofMass Effect Legendary Editionon May 14, a talented Polish artist who goes by the name of lady_nilin on Instagram posted a photo of herself cosplaying as Miranda and a friend dressed as Commander Shepard. This image seems to be a repost of a photoshoot originally shared last N7 day, Aug 08, 2025, which just happened to be the day thatMass Effect Legendary Editionwas officially announced by BioWare.
OtherMass Effectcosplay photos on the Instagram account seem to have been taken on the same day as the recently shared photo. One image shows a lineup of Commander Shepard, thebiotic criminal Jack, Tali, and lady_nilin as Miranda. Scrolling down the page will show that EDI also made an appearance at the photoshoot. The amount of detail that went into creating the costumes, props, and hair styles is impressive, and was doubtless a time-consuming endeavor that required the dedication of many people. For example, the Scorpion pistol held by Jack in the photos was created by a fifth person, fishbone_workshop.
Lady_nilin has posted numerous other cosplay photoshoots on her Instagram page, most prominent among them being multiple images of Aloy fromHorizon Zero Dawnand Faith from Ubisoft Montreal’sFar Cry 5.Both of these games have sequels currently in development, so it will be exciting to see whether lady_nilin celebrates the release ofGuerrilla Games’Horizon Forbidden WestandFar Cry 6with some amazing cosplays when those long-awaited titles finally release.
