A recent update for the upcomingMega Man Battle Network Legacy Collectionhas revealed the remake will include a highly controversial feature on its release, Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM. There-release of the classicMega Manspinoffexcited fans when it was first revealed by Capcom earlier this year, bringing all ten games to the PC, PS4, and Switch. The remake has even confirmed the return of the popular online play features from the original games, including battles and chip trading. Now, the compilation is reportedly set to ship with another more unpopular feature.

WithMega Man Battle Network Legacy Collectionset to launch sometime next year, Capcom has already started to give fans plenty of reasons to look forward to the upcomingMega Manremake. The compilation will feature remastered versions of all ten of theBattle Networkgames from the Game Boy Advance, including the alternate versions of the later games. The previously mentioned online features come after the original games had featured similar mechanics tied to the Game Boy Advance’s Link Cable. Now, however, a Steam database update has revealed the inclusion of Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM.

A recent Steam update has confirmed both versions ofMega Man Battle Network Legacy Collectionwill include Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM as a means of combatting piracy. This was pointed out in a Reddit post by a user known as Turbostrider27. The feature will reportedly stop players from being able to activatethe newBattle Networkgameson more than five PCs in a day. While the service is included as a way to stop players from pirating the game, many fans have already shown their concern based on the history of the anti-piracy program.

Denuvo DRM has been a highly controversial feature for many PC gamers with the anti-piracy software often having a major effect on the quality of its featured games. Users have reported everything from stuttering to framerate issues and many games have received significant backlash from fans for the inclusion of Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM.Past Denuvo outageshave even led to games being temporarily unplayable due to issues with the anti-piracy software. No confirmation has been given as to whether the Switch and PS4 versions of theBattle Networkcompilation will also feature Denuvo.
